omnirig's Issues

Enable/Disable TX/RX via command line

Hello, first thank you for your effort on OmniRig. I am looking for a way to simply "key the mic" via a cmd window.
For example keymic.exe rig1 on/off are there any utils out there to talk to omnirig via the cli?

Modes (dig/data/rtty)

I'm extensively using OmniRig for rig control and logging of my Icom IC-7300 and occasionally my Yaesu FT-857d. I started looking at the OmniRig configuration and code. I've been tinkering with the Delphi example to give me a better understanding of how to use OmniRig.

Anyway, the Icom has a few different modes than what OmniRig by default supports. It has the RTTY and RTTY-R modes. Does not have the DIG_U/DIG_L modes, instead the IC-7300 has a mode modifier that can be applied to the SSB, AM and FM modes.

So I started pondering if OmniRig should support more modes and a mode modifier out of the box (i.e. not via a custom command). For example a pmRTTY, pmRTTY_R, pmDataOn, and pmDataOff. These would be new commands as to not impact and break existing programs that rely on the current OmniRig api.

I see that there was a similar idea in the Add-RTTY-&-PSK-modes branch. However, those changes seem dangerous as the current api is being modified. Support for pmDIG_U and pmDIG_L are dropped while pmRTTY and pmPSK are added.

Modes do vary quite a bit between radios. E.g.:
IC-7300: AM, FM, USB, LSB, CW, CW-R, RTTY, RTTY-R
FT-857: AM, FM, WFM, NFM, USB, LSB, CW, CWR, CW-N, DIG, PKT
FT-991: AM, AM-N, FM, FM-N, DATA-FM, C4FM, USB, LSB, CW, CW-R, RTTY-LSB, RTTY-USB, DATA-LSB, DATA-USB

What are your thoughts about supporting more modes? I wonder if there exist a history and maybe good reason not to go forward with any changes. Also is the OmniRig project still being supported and improved?

Add support for FT-890 (YAESU)

My dad is into radio transmitters and receivers - while I am not :D So I hope to write something comprehensible... Basically, he has an old FT-890 (from YAESU) and he would like to use OmniRig with that via the COM port and not via the audio-jack, as he does now. However, he claims that this radio is not supported, and indeed a quick inspection of the supported HW listed at http://dxatlas.com/omnirig/ seems to confirm it...

Would it then be possible to support the FT-890? He can provide an english pdf manual of the transmitter if needed.
Thanks!

Rounding error in TRig.ToDPIcom

Hi, I've been using the DPIcom format in a rig descriptor file I created for the AOR AR-DV1 receiver. I found that there is a rounding error when dividing from Hz to MHz on line 321 of RigObj.pas. If I declare F as double (line 316) this rounding problem can be fixed. Would you be able to make this change and include in your next release please?

Support for more than 2 Radios

Hello.
First of all many thanks for this software.
Will be the possibility in the future to supports more than 2 Radio in Omni-Rig?

Thanks.

FTDX101MP comport issue.

In windows version it seems just 1 - 20 comports are listed, however the CP2105 virtual usb-uart port is not listed or detected.

Detection or the ability to manually enter the comport would sole the issue ?

Thankyou

Poll heard through TX when WSJT or JTDX

Hi,
I noticed the poll intervall ticks are heard through the TX. And only when using JTDX and WSJT for instance.
If I just use manual PTT during voice, it is not heard.
Rgds,
Johan

Not work at frequency higher then 2200 MHz

Alex hello!
Testing with soft SDR Console v3.0.23 and Power SDR mrx PS v3.4.9 on QO-100 satelite (10 GHz downlink and 2.4 GHz uplink).
SDR Console using OmniRig like high level layer in CAT. Not work with freq more 2200 MHz.
I suppose 32 bit variables problem. May you check/fix that?
