[1.18] The game crashed when using memory phial

I built the 1.18 version of Beyond The Veil & tried to test it. But when I using the memory phial of learning in a fume spreader & sleep, the game crashed and throw a crash-report, which shows a NPE Error.

Tablet Buttons Have Strange Lines and Pixels Change

When pointing at the buttons of the Tablet, they will show lines below, and the lines of upper button and the lower one do not have the same length.
The pixels at the boundary of the button switch between opaque and semi-transparent, and the former looks not good.

Right-clicking Idol Causes Absolute Silence

Currently, after right-clicking the Idol of the Fishing Hamlet, no matter there is a quest for that or not, the game will be completely silent. All sounds will fade in this case.
Replacing the silence with alien whisper or something else may be a good way to refine it.

Block Model Sink into the Ground

Some block model size is so big that it sink into the ground, such as statues and Fume Spreader.

Dweller Dialog Problem

There is something wrong with the dialog of a type of dwellers(maybe the "miner"?)

Exception in server tick loop When dreaming darkness

When i first use this dream to locate the darkness biome its ok. I get a set of x and z position nearby.(In fact only a mountain there) But after i encounter another bug after a server crashing. I switch a new account and try the research again and i encounter another crash. Heres the crashinglog.

I guess maybe it was because the number of map blocks I explored were huge and it may take much time to research position. But
I increased my server`s max ticking time but it cant work.

No proper tool for dark sand?

Dark Sand takes forever to mine, regardless of what tool is used. It makes living among the dwellers a huge pain, which is a shame because I love the atmosphere.

Phials Gained in Different Ways Cannot Stack

Two ways to get phials: crafting, and looting chests.
However, the phials gained in different ways cannot stack together. The ones crafted can only stack with the crafted ones, and so do the looted ones. To be more specific, when trying to stack them up, they appears to be stacked up into one stack, but once clicking the stack, it will immediately split into two stacks.
The problem seems to be caused by a fact that crafted Phials have tag/memory:none, while the looted ones don't have this tag.

Sudden Crash when going far from spawn

When I left my base to gather supplies, a crash occurred. Initially, I thought that Minecraft Comes Alive mod was the problem, but after removing the mod the crash still persisted. This is the crash report:

"Dreams of others" quest issue

in this quest, it seem like i actually need to be in another player, but i don't want to play in multiplayer, so maybe making it work either with villager or adding a mob that would work with it could make this quest work better?

First Person Viewport is fixed at human height

Hey there, this doesn't have a crash log, it doesn't even show up in the Latest log. When I have BTV installed the first person camera is fixed at player-level. This wouldn't be an issue if I wasn't using something like Changeling to change into different creatures. This doesn't happen with BTV installed.

Translation Keys Have No ModIDs inside

So there might be duplications if another author writes translation keys without writing ModIDs inside.

The Gear Bench Shortcut Key Issue

The Vanilla Minecraft crafting system providing a number of shortcut key to help quickly craft something, such as shift-clicking will directly remove a stack of items from the crafting grid.
The Gear Bench does not have these keys, which makes using it sometimes become not very convenient. It will be great to improve this.

The Flute sound

when you play the flute, only the user would be able to hear the sound. in a multiplayer setting, other players
can't hear the sound even though they got struck with the folly effect.

Mobs Lost Their Loyality When Relogin the World

(An issue which has been talked about on CurseForge, but I guess putting it here may help)
Press ESC and quit the world, then relogin into it, then all the mobs created by myself will lose their loyality, which means I cannot beat them at will for they may fight back as neutral mobs.
Suggeon, Shoggoth, Blood Undead are involved.

Eldritch Dream Problem

If pressing ESC at the first time of dreaming the Eldritch, the dream will stop and the research won't unlock, and the player cannot dream the Eldritch again.

Incompatibility With Somnia Awoken Mod

When I sleep with the somnia mod the mod doesn't recognize it and I can't progress.

Suggestion about Damp Wood

Adding Damp Wood Fence Gate, Damp Wood Trapdoor, Damp Wood Door and so on, the Vanilla counterparts.
This will help a lot in decorating the house at the Voided biome, as the atmosphere of that place is really attractive that many will like to live there - at least I think so :P

Common Crash in Arche.

Have received this several times while attempting to explore Arche. Biome it occurred in is Arche plains, and I have no other mods installed. Can barely leave the Blood Home without this happening.

(Also, small side note - Absolutely love the mod!)

Bronze Sphere Bug

Using Bronze Sphere may result in unexpected extra experience, can be used to cheat. Sometimes causing more serious problem that the experience bar just dissapear because of the negative experience point.
It is tested that the bug is not related to the number of experience contained in the Sphere.
Here is a case about the issue. In this case, I was trying to contain xp into the Sphere:

As you can see, the total xp was decreased, while the level suddenly jumped to much higher than before.

Saw Cleaver AOE Causing No Dropping Item Or Experience

When killing mobs with AOE attack of the Saw Cleaver, they drop neither item nor experience.
Maybe something that is relevant to the Damage Source.

Dream Focus: Fluid Route Setting Process Cannot Stop

When there is a block directly at the bottom of the Dream Focus: Fluid, and then using the Focus to set the route, the process will continue even after the timer has already been counted down.
So far as I know, the only way to stop the process is to interact with other devices (such as Dream Foucus: Villager and Dream Foucus: Item).

Crashes on memory dream

When I create a memory phial and put it into a fume spreader with incense the game crashes

Error message: The game crashed whilst exception ticking world

CustomMobSpawner Incompatibility [Spoiler Warning]

Heya!

First of all, holy gods is this mod incredible - I've never quite found a something like this, something that genuinely makes me shudder and leaves a lingering sense of dread. Bravo, truly.

But, on to the matter at hand.

When I first entered Arche, I noticed that none of the Ictya were spawning. Further experimentation and past experiences led me to suspect that DrZhark's CustomMobSpawner - which I use for Mo'Creatures - was the issue. Upon removing it in a clone of my playthrough, the Ictya began spawning normally.

Forgive my ignorance of coding, but I would suspect that this would not be easily fixed, and also that it would have a low priority, seeing as it is a compatibility issue rather than anything related to Beyond The Veil itself. Nonetheless, thank you for your time, and for being such an active and friendly developer.

Ticking Entity: beyondtheveil:deep_one

Encountering an issue with the Deep Ones in Arche. Whenever I approach the Deep One city structure, I crash to desktop due to a ticking entity error. Apparently, this has something to do with the Deep One entity.
I am playing on a server, so I have tried to use the Cofh killall command to get rid of all Deep Ones before loading into the chunk. However, this does not seem to fix the error

Tablet Ciphertext Localization Issue

The ciphertext of Tablet is based on English letters transforming. When using other languages (like Chinese) to translate them (replace the original English text in the .lang files), the cipher process will not work, in other words, the texts do not change. As a result, I had to use Chinese-English contrast to let them be translated.
Would you like to optimize it, so that the texts will be English at first, and when successfully translated they will immediately transform to the content in the .lang file? In this case, the .lang file should only determined the deciphered content, and the ciphertext will be hard-coded as English.

PS: an example of Chinese-English contrast which is now using in the .lang file

Suggestion about Wolf Medallion

Currently, the passive effect of Wolf Medallion detects all kinds of mobs that are able to attack, including wolf.
It may be a good idea to make it not detect the tamed wolf (in other words, the "dog"). If possible, expanding the idea to all the "allies", like Suggeon and the Deep Ones summoned by the wearer, etc. (the Shoggoth may still be detected, for it is not calm and can be very dangerous)

Shoggoth Won't Calm Down

(Hopefully detailed description of the event will help)
I accidently released Shoggoth to build towers while forgetting about my poor sheep in the sheepfolder nearby. Shoggoth nearly killed them all, I tried my best to save some of them and move them to about 30 blocks away from the scene of carnage. However, Shoggoth has a long following range and ran to the rest of the sheep, so I quickly delievered the Shoggoth Map to it, it then turned back to the work.
After finishing the building, it appears to be clam down, staying at its place. But when I attempted to use my Blackjack to retrieve it, I failed again and again. I tried to quit the world and relogined, but this didn't help. Finally I had to kill the Shoggoth and made a new one.
It seemed like something was wrong with the "calm mechanism". Shouldn't it be seen as calm when it has no trend to attack other mobs?

maybe adding a floor to each and every building could be cool?

Tablet Research Entry Text Lost

As the picture shows, the original key is at the bottom of the tablet research entry screen.
Currently, there is no research.inscription_complete.text in .lang files.
If I manually add this line into .lang file, it will work. But I don't know what should be the original text.

Vijhiss Hitbox Causes Suffocation

There seems to be something wrong with Vijhiss's hitbox, resulting in that walking too close to it causes suffocation damage.

Mod use in server

The mod seems unable to operate correctly in server. In my server, the trip back from nether do not give player the Al Azif (the necronomicon). If I craft the book myself, when I open the book with right click, the HUD is empty. These will not occur in single player mode, so I guess if there are something wrong with the mod's performance in server.

The Great Dreamer Ability Bonus Problem

Even after finishing all the main quests, the players may still find themselves not reaching the highest level of ability bonus (like the maximum of Attack Multiplier should be 60%, but the players find themselves are 55%) when using the Introspection Dream. This is because the number of Slugs they eat is less than 20. As the former quests that asking for eating enough slugs will decrease the number by 20 after finishing them, while there is no hint after all of them, it is very likely for the players to not aware of that and confuse about their bonus problem.
It may be better to adjust the mechanism.

Dream Bottle Tooltip Color Inconsistent

When Dream Bootle contains more than one Phial, the color of tooltip becomes inconsistant(the first one is gray while the others are white).

Villagers Knocked Out Lost Their Professions

Villagers lose their professions after being knocked out by the Blackjack, which can be used to refresh trade of the villager, and profession like butcher won't return.
It may be a proper idea to make them retain their professions.

Al Azif GUI Display Problem

As I opened Ictyary in the Al Azif, my game unexpectedly ticked. When I changed GUI scales from 4 to large, it didn't tick, but I can't read
the Research text in Al Azif, for it was too small.

Dweller Trade Bug

Just like villager trade system, dweller trade has limited number of items each time.
However, by shift-clicking the goods, it displays "×" as if limited items are bought, but once clicking the items bought just now, it will suddenly become the number that will only happen when all cash are used up.
The bug can be avoided by not using shift key to operate.

Al Azif GUI Display Problem

When reading Al Azif and drag the background, sometimes it will suddenly "flash" to an area without any entry, leaving a dark starry background alone. Maybe using a key (for example, the SPACE) to get back to (0,0,0) (or the beginning point) is a good idea to solve this problem.

Canoe Ticking entity and Water disappearing

1: Sometimes when I log in, the canoes we have in our village, cause a Ticking Entity problem, which crashes my game. (Log included below)

2: When looking the the direction of someone transformed into a deep one, and being within viewing distance of them, the water seem to vanish around us, as if the textures arent there. It still behaves like water, but we can't see it.

Question: start in pack with no nether.

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to start the mod without the player traveling to the nether themselves. I use Hearth Well in a pack I am working on, and it disables some of the functionality of the nether portal. Players do not actually enter the nether, but can toss an item in to have it transformed into another item. You may want to add in a cross mod compatibility where a book gets tossed through the nether portal and the beginning book is given back.

A couple of bugs I think I've found found

I've had a few issues since the new update.
The first is an issue of randomly having 'fake deaths' where after transforming from a deep one into a human the game seems to think I'm dead while also alive. This leads to odd results like me having a full healthbar and everything in my inventory while having the death screen. The second issue is that Phantom health has also been happening where the display shows me at full health after losing a fight in the arena only for that not to be true. The final issue is the game sometimes crashes when I win an arena match.

Shoggoth Shrine Structure Misclick

I apologize this is a really horrible bug report, I just remembered it now but I don't have screenshots or anything like that.

It's honestly not even an issue, just a funny thing I noticed.

I'm playing BTV in my 1.12.2 pack and I had a shoggoth build the Shrine structure. The structure has chiseled elder bricks going in two circles around it, as well as a circle of normal elder bricks.

Well, right in the corner, just one of the chiseled elder bricks is normal elder brick for some reason. I checked all the other corners, all chiseled.

It could probably just be a bug when my shoggoth built it, or it could be a problem with the coded input for what the shoggoth is supposed to build.

Regardless, it's a single block that honestly makes 0 different and is almost not even noticeable, but I noticed it and figured I may as well bring it up.

Wouldn't hurt to double-check the structure file or whatever just to make sure.
To reproduce,if the shoggoth builds it right for you, then it's just a bug on my end.
