Hello there!

First of all thank you for the hard work on an amazing app!

I did a fresh install of Lemmy on the domain meowrr.com and all seems to work. Only with the iOS app I cannot upload media and het an error.

Media uploading does work on Android & web

As the title says, but from looking at the settings there appear to be no notification options so maybe this just isn't implemented yet?

Installed newest version from the Apple store, clicked Continue with my instance, typed in https://beehaw.org, clicked Done and nothing. The Add button is greyed out.

When first clicking on the comment field of the comment screen, the OP stays top aligned, and the keyboard blocks the view of the field.
Current work around is to remove field focus, and return focus comment field.

Also, thinner settings and person icon would be great!

Itd be nice to have the option to change the icon to have a black background.

After the update to 1.1.12, the app is very fast upon opening and then becomes unable to fetch new data after several minutes.

When the app is closed and reopened, it works as expected until it times out again after a couple minutes.

This is similar to an issue I have on the web app where it hangs and the page needs to be reloaded. In the webapp, it has error messages that it cannot connect to websockets. This was somewhat alleviated after they bumped the websocket timeout around v0.6 but it still remained an issue.

Currently Remmel just displays the post title

Process:

1. Open app

2. Click plus in top right to add instance

3. Type a Lemmy url, such as https://Lemmygrad.ml/

4. Click enter on the keyboard

Result: the ‘add’ text in the top right briefly becomes a loading ball, then reverts to a greyed out ‘add’.

The instances screen displays an Add button along with links to terms & conditions
When accessing the Add screen the text at the top displays Create Instance (This is ambiguous, are we really trying to create an instance from this app?)

Attempting to login to my account at an existing instance.
I have tried adding the following combinations:

• lemmy.ml
• https://lemmy.ml

But the Add button remains disabled.

If this is the case, then rules and other important information are not provided to the user.

Testing Remmel for iOS v1.5 from App Store with my Lemmy server v0.14.1.
Remmel is not loading any comments into Comments tab.

Cover pictures for user profiles only partially load, the image stays blurred and is incorrectly positioned behind user profile text making the text hard to read. Cover pictures for communities don't load at all, not sure if this is a bug or has just not yet been implemented

Swiping down to refresh content only seems to work on the home page but not on user profiles pages or community pages. Not sure if this is a bug or just not yet implemented

I tried to sign in to a second instance and kept receiving the following error:

couldnt_find_that_user-name_or_email

Fails with username and fails with email

• Add 2nd instance
• Attempt to sign in, get error
• Sign out and remove both instances
• Reverse instance test to confirm

Instances tested:

• Lemmy.ml (BE 0.14.5-rc.1)
• Lemmy.ca (BE 0.14.3)

Whenever I open a thread with a lot of comments, I can only scroll down so far before the app starts to lag and eventually crash. Could be a memory issue?

Can't login

Shows "Wrong password" when trying to login with wrong password. Doesnt show something or do something with correct credentials.

After updating my Lemmy instance to version 0.17.0, the app doesn't work anymore.
Opening the app requires choosing the community and the user, but - tapping on the user - doesn't go on.

When browsing communities I have created, there is no option to pin posts to the communities

Any plans top bring remmel to android?

Even though I’ve successfully signed up and logged in on lemmygrad.ml, I can’t login on the Remmel app. It gives me the following error message:

I've tried to sign in to Sopuli, but the "Add" button remains greyed out. I have tried combinations of http:// and https:// preceding sopuli.xyz, and I have also tried with beehaw.org and lemmy.ml.

I have tried disabling my VPN and changing my DNS. No change.

This is, of course, an essential feature of a Lemmy client. Please fix ASAP.

When I click on a link leading to a Lemmy instance, it opens in Safari (or in the default browser). Nevertheless, if it is a Lemmy link it should open inside the Remmel app.

This happens also when I click on Lemmy links inside of Remmel itself.

Is this a $ issue?

Or just something that Apple decided that you have to apply separately?

I have an instance that's on a subdomain, eg: lemmy.example.com. I can use it on the web and it works on Lemmur, but in Remmel the add button remains greyed out.

Where, it says accounts after clicking the instance (lemmy.ml). I put in my login info and the "Add" button will go from blue to grey and stay like that indefinately.

If I say continue as a guest, then click login from the top right corner, put in my login info, the login button doesn't work. No matter how many times I click.

I've only tested this on lemmy.ml, so I cannot tell if this occurs anywhere else and I've already tried deleting and redownloading the app.

Issue
Making a comment often results in a double posting of the comment.

Specs

• iOS 15.0.2 (but happened on 15.0.1, 15, and 14.X)\
• iPhone 13 Pro

The sorting function works, it's just that it says "Top year" twice.

In ~1-2 weeks, lemmy will be moving to API v3, mainly due to migration of the user_ to person table, meaning all of the user and user_id terms are changing in the API. Here's the diff with API v2:
