portal-sdk-2013's Introduction

portal-sdk-2013

Portal source code ported to Source SDK 2013

The source code has not been modified, that is, it is as is. Do not ask any questions related to programming in C++, as I can not call myself a professional programmer. This source code is for you to create your own mods. You have no right to sell this modification anywhere if you are not a licensee.

How to setup source code

  1. Clone or download repository.
  2. Run creategameprojects.bat and open games.sln (you need Visual Studio 2013 with MFC installed to create and open sln-file).
  3. Start building the project and then copy the dll files from the game\portal\bin to the your_mod_folder\bin or you can set up Post Build Events.

To make mods you should to use Source SDK Singleplayer 2013 with upcoming beta. You can use gameinfo.txt from mod_portal folder.

portal-sdk-2013's Issues

Question: Source SDK Base 2013 or Portal (or am I doing something wrong)

I compiled some modified source code with Visual Studio Community 2013 and put it in my portal mod and changed 'gamebin' of the GameInfo file to those that of the mod's compiled bin file.

When I try to open my portal mod, the game crashes upon startup.

I also compiled an unchanged version of the source code here provided and put the dll files in the bin folder and it's still crashing.

Am I doing something wrong?
Is this for Portal or is it made for the Source SDK Base 2013?

Does this actually function?

I was just wondering if you've actually tried to compile this and see if it runs under 2013 Base? I haven't diffed it against the original or even tried to compile it, but I'd be surprised if no changes were needed to get it to work, so I was just wondering what you've tried, if anything.

Thanks
