Is it possible to send timers to the unit from HA?
Which configuration should I use in HA with Native component?
I am using the native MQTT library and I am having a strange issue:
The AC unit is not turning off, when I send the off signal from HomeAssistant.
Turning on the unit works
Switching between different modes works as well, however turning off does not.
To turn the unit off, I have to use the manual remote control.
Any idea what could be wrong? Iām on HA0.98.2 and the latest ino file downloaded today. I also tried with 0.96.5 and previous ino file version downloaded about a month ago. That yielded the same results, hence my upgrade to the latest versions. That did not help and Iām afraid I won't be revering HA to earlier versions.
Thanks for this superb code which I use on all my units in my house.
I use a stand alone Mosquito MQTT broker connected to Home Assistant. If I have to restart Mosquito, normally because I have to restart the hardware it is running on, MitsuCon does not reconnect. The only way to resolve this is to power off all the units and put them back on again.
Perhaps there is a configuration issue I don't understand?
Is there a way to change it to farenheit ?
The original heatpump has a property of iscelcius , but it's not included in this current native or classic mode, how to I go about farenheit?
Try to use some library in order to setup wifi and MQTT connectivity. Example: https://github.com/tzapu/WiFiManager
If we need to change the wifi network or mqtt server we need to reflash the controller.
thanks
Have you considered adapting the code for use from esphome.io?
https://esphome.io/components/climate/custom.html
I currently have about 5 ESP8266 (wemos) devices in my house all configured and integrated with HomeAssistant via ESPHome.
This would make it easier for beginners as it can remove the entire Arduino IDE.
Add a DHCP reservation, flash the base code on to the device, add the IP into HomeAssistant.
I am going to try this project anyway, but thought I would mention Esphome in case you had not seen it.
(feel free to close)
Hello,
Could you share de Serial Number of the devices used in your picture?
I mean: Wemos D1, Cable? Connectors?
Regards,
which versions of the libraries you are using to compile the program?
#include <ESP8266WiFi.h>
#include <ArduinoJson.h>
#include <PubSubClient.h>
#include <HeatPump.h>
#include <ESP8266mDNS.h>
#include <ArduinoOTA.h>
I'm getting the error "failed to publish DISCOV topic" starting the controller, maybe is related with the versions of the libraries. Can you please check which ones you are using on arduino IDE? I recommend start using visual code using platformio, it is much more easy to setup/compile and upload the sketches :)
I have it working in hass, but I wonder if it possible to ha e it hooked up somehow to a nest or ecobee thermostat
I've just connected things up for the first time and I KNOW I didn't short anything because I went above and beyond to prevent that, but I get nothing.
I used pre-crimped wires and I have not connected pin 1 on purpose as I didn't want to risk 12v going anywhere it shouldn't. I've used a RJ45 socket at the other end of the cable to prevent shorts and I tested for continuity on each pin end to end and confirmed there were no shorts (before I even opened up the Mitsubishi).
Has anyone come across this sort of problem and were you able to solve it?

FYI, I thought this might be relevant to the target audience here:
Great work on this stuff, really appreciate the work it is awesome.
In the latest version of the Wemos D1 mini they have removed the series resistor from the transmit line on the serial to USB IC. This means wiring it up as the readme shows doesn't work and you get no data from the heatpump. The work around I have done currently is to lift the TX and RX pins on the UART to USB IC, however it means I can no longer program the device.
Can we add support for using different pins for UART (maybe software UART required?). And maybe add a caution to the readme about this latest verison?
