I wonder if there's a way to config the built-in codemirror of chrome devtool.
On https://umaar.com/dev-tips/82-console-table/
The final snippet says:
var languages = [
{ name: "JavaScript", fileExtension: ".js" },
{ name: "TypeScript", fileExtension: ".ts" },
{ name: "CoffeeScript", fileExtension: ".coffee" }
];
console.log(languages);
The last line should be console.table(languages);
why some features in my lastest chrome devtools does't exist? such as 'css coverage' and 'css tracker'.
Loved the JavaScript members tip. As far as I can tell, the Ctrl+Shift+O shortcut only works in the currently opened file. I tried pressing it without a JS file open, and chrome://bookmarks/ was displayed instead.
Tip : https://umaar.com/dev-tips/83-console-time/

expected url
It will be great if you have an rss feed option for people who don't desire tips via email

Previous course update: There's now 4 hours of video content on โถ ModernDevTools.com!
I'm not sure its possible, but if it is, it'd be handy for debugging certain issues and automated tests if I knew a way to persist the "Network > Preserve Log" checkbox. When Chrome restarts, it forgets the checked state and always unchecks it again.
It looks like other devs are interested in this tip too: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45133659/how-to-enable-preserve-log-in-network-tab-in-chrome-developer-tools-by-default
(Thanks @umaar for all your great tips btw - they've helped out a lot over the years!)
I would love to see a guide on how to setup Selenium or some equivalent automated front-end testing.
like to receive small snippet like, when to use document.execCommand("insertText", false, text);
The mailer always tells about new stuff in Canary. But I have to work with Stable, as do many, and by the time new stuff rolls out into Stable I don't remember anything from the mailer.
If this seems like it applies more than me, you could just have a separate mailing list with the same content held up till Stable.
This would be a great twitter feed! Either way, thanks for the tips!!!

Update: You can now sign up for the course โถ ModernDevTools.com
A while back, DevTool has the ability to show all resources by type, e.g. images. This made hunting for a specific image easier.
Now resources are grouped by origin, which due to CDNs, makes that process harder. Any tips?
More features in DevTools like Profiling, Audit, Finding memory leak etc..
Hi @umaar . Congratulations on the great project developed.
I would suggest the new feature: Perform the changes directly in pre-processor files (Less, Sass and Stylus) using the source maps.
I just found your site and there are a whole bunch of awesome tricks there, so naturally I want to gorge on them. But it's a little painful to go through them all because when I go back to the list of tips then I've lost my spot in the list.
If each page had a next & previous link, it would make browsing through tips much easier.
Or alternatively, a:visited { color: red; }
or similar - that's what I've done in the meantime.
Please release these tips as RSS feeds also.
Thanks for the awesome tips so far @umaar! Are you looking for contributions to dev-tips?
Would really be great to add to my daily feed.
