resourcesync-oai-pmh

This is a collection of wrapper scripts for easy setup and use of both sides (source and destination) of the ResourceSync web synchronization framework with existing OAI-PMH metadata providers on the source side and a Solr index (in addition to a scheduling server) on the destination side. This solution was developed for UCLA's PRRLA project. For project information, visit http://pr-rla.org and http://prl.library.ucla.edu/about.

add "dry-run" command for destination

Since we're touching the filesystem, it would be a good idea to have a --dry-run command similar to rsync.

simplify distribution and installation

Either put on PyPI, or make installation as easy as downloading a .zip of the repo, extracting, and using a setup script or easy_install. There should be one set of installation instructions for the entire package, rather than for each module separately.

I suppose we'd initially not worry about semver and leave that for future enhancement.

transform destination/util.py into a util module with submodules for each class

Each class should be a separate file (as should the tests).

write tests for the source module

add continuous integration

write tests for the destination module

enable importing each module into other modules

Each module should be useful as a module import (i.e., have a useful API).

add license

enable running each module as a script

Both the source and destination should be packaged as modules that can be invoked like:

python3 -m mod [arg] ...
