twilio-sans-mono's Introduction

Twilio Sans Mono written in Twilio Sans Mono on a red background

Twilio worked very closely with the type foundry, Sharp Type over the course of two years to develop a welcoming and adaptable typeface designed specifically for Twilio, Twilio Sans. Twilio Sans is a super family composed of display fonts, text fonts, and mono fonts.

Twilio Sans Mono is a distinct programming font designed to fit the needs of every developer — no matter their code editor, no matter their preferred programming language, and no matter their project. You can download Twilio Sans Mono for free today and use it in your favorite code editor.

twilio-sans-mono's Issues

No ligatures version

First of all, thank you for developing this beautiful font, it's really amazing. I would like to request a no ligatures version since one of the IDEs that I use unfortunately doesn't allow to disable ligatures :(

Thank you once again!

The grave accent in markdown looks weird

Hey there 👋

I love the new font 😍, especially the curly brackets! Recently I saw a weird display in markdown using VSCode with Windows 10.
Is this the expected display? Or I am having

Thank you

Remove or improve rfn

First I want to say, great work, and an excellent choice of license in the ofl here :)

However I would like to provide some feedback on the rfn part of the way the ofl is applied here:

To me, the rfn used today is too broad, since it's requiring derivatives to avoid the use of "sans" or "mono" in their name, unless they get additional permission. It also requires anyone redistributing the fonts with any modifications at all, including web subsetting, to change the name completely, so twilio won't get the credit deserved.

Since twilio is already a registered trademark, I think even removing the rfn altogether could be appropriate, but at least removing the generic pieces would be ideal.

I'm happy to hop on a call to help discuss more nuances with this

Love the font!

I know this is not an issue, but I wanted to compliment the team and thank you for a lovely font. I just discovered it while looking for new fonts on programmingfonts.org. It was a pleasant to surprise to find Twilio Sans Mono. I really like the:

  • the plethora of ligatures available
  • the beautiful curly braces are easy to distinguish from square brackets (especially at small sizes)
  • the variety of weights as I love a heavy bold so it stands out (many coding fonts don't provide enough contrast)
  • the casual, but not too casual, italic, it has a nice balance

The font looks amazing and I'm very much enjoying it. Thank you.
