keyboard-layouts's Issues

Pulse 15 : minor bugs in italian keyboard key labeling

I just bought my Pulse 15 with the italian keyboard layout and i found a couple of minor "bugs" in the key labeling. Nothing really severe, just wanted to point these out for the benefit of your future italian-typing customers :-)

  • the "É" character should really be lowercase: "é"
  • there is no Euro sign; it should be in the lower-right corner of the "E" key (in the italian layout, AltGr + E prints "€").
See the annotated image, and a picture of an HP laptop keyboard for comparison.

PR coming soon ;-)

Template for InfinityBook Pro 14 (Gen6) missing

In order to create a custom layout for the InfinityBook Pro 14 (Gen6) keyboard it would be very helpful to have a template with the correct positioning of keys.

Sadly this model is missing in the list.

ANSI vs ISO

Hello!

I noticed that for the Pulse 15 the US ANSI layout and US ISO layout are exactly the same, while in the Keyboards & Layout page on the company's website they are different.

ANSI

This is the ANSI keyboard in the repo:

And this is the one from the Tuxedo website:

As you can see the enter keys are different, and the layout in this repo is incorrect.

ISO

This is the ISO keyboard in the repo:

Kind request to clarify ANSI vs. ISO on website

Hi, I've just discovered the ability to customize the keyboard layout for Tuxedo notebooks, great to see this!

I was reading the Keyboards & Layouts page and I'm unclear on the "Differences ISO vs. ANSI" section. Could images be added there to illustrate the two different physical layouts, perhaps the images from the InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen 6?

I'm asking because looking at some layouts in this repo, ANSI and ISO are the same physically (only the symbols differ), but in the image I linked above, they are different: ANSI has a wider left shift key, shorter return key, and an extra \ key vs. the ISO.

Pulse 14 de-DE: Extra symbols on "^" and space bar

The Pulse 14 de-DE layout has extra symbols on the "^" key and on the spacebar. From the symbol itself it would not be clear to me what function they serve or how to trigger these functions. From looking at the layout of the InfinityBook S14, I assume they can be triggered with Fn and are a play/pause button and a toggle for the keyboard illumination. I think this could be made clearer using better symbol placement and usage of more descriptive symbols.

Possible solutions:

The symbols on the InfinityBook S14 layout are quite easy to understand. I suggest to use the same here.

I would place all Fn symbols in the upper right corner, just like on the F1,F2,... row. That would mean the main symbol is always in the top center, the shifted symbol is always in the lower left corner, the AltGr symbol is always in the lower right corner and the the Fn symbol is always in the upper right corner. That's consistent and should be easier to understand.

Wrong left shift in Russian layout

Your Russian layout has small left shift, and extra key with slashes/backslashes right next to it. This is wrong, Russian layout shift is supposed to be wide, taking space of these two keys, and there should be no key with backslashes there because this key is already present on the keyboard, right next to enter key.

FR-Azerty layout

Hi, I've bought a TUXEDO Aurora 15 (so XP15 like keyboard if I've well understood) with FRENCH (FR) with backlit with TUX superkey.

I have 2 questions :

  1. why the french display isn't available on this repository, but is available in the buying configurator ? (so there is no preview of the final layout for french keyboard before buying them)
  2. why did the french layout you deliver have Shift alternative writen at bottom left and not at upper left corner of each key ? (the shift key represent an up arrow, so it's counter-intuitive to put them at bottom and not at top ! )

Pulse 15: en_US layout

Please add the en_US layout for the Pulse 15. Additionally an option to remove the dot on the caps lock key for people who rebind caps lock to a subjectively more useful key.

Pulse 14 de-DE: Shift variant of "2" and "6" missing

I had a quick look at the Pulse 14 de-DE layout: It appears the shift variant for the keys 2 and 6 are missing. They should probably be assigned to " and & and be found in XML elements with ID text288 and text296, but those are empty (<text ... />).

InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen 6 EN-US template?

Hi,

I'd like to order an InfinityBook with a custom keyboard layout.
Do you have an English layout template I can adapt? There's only one for DE in the repository.

Thanks,
Dan

Pulse15 US-ISO and US-ANSI key confusion

hi,

i want to design my own keyboard layout for a Pulse 15, and am a bit confused by the available templates.

I notice that the backslash is found twice on the Pulse 15/Pulse15 US-ISO.svg and there is a big enter (incl backslash?) and multiple empty keys for the Pulse 15/Pulse 15 US-ANSI.

Is this a mistake? On the pictures on tuxedocomputers.com of the Pulse 15 I can only see the German ISO layout, without any repeating keys.
