I'm enjoying AnimatedQRCodeReader and it works really well it's fast enough, simple, and works on multiple devices (PC to PC is my real need). I'm running into an issue though. Scanner.html works great when connected to the internet, but it's not able to initialize the camera while not having any internet access. I'm assuming this has something to do with dynamsoft licensing check?

Are there any plans in the future to get away from the dynamsoft barcode reader so that this can be used consistently without a connection to the internet, or without having to buy their license (I think I saw it was around $1,400 per year.)?

Hey, i know that this project is a little old now and hasnt been updated in a while but i was wondering if it was possible to migrate from DBR to something else.
This project is really cool and very usefull but the fact that its powered by a closed-source engine means that if dynamsoft were to go bankrupt you would have no easy way to decrypt your files.

The inspiration for this app has noted research and visualization on speed. It is good to consider that as part of AnimatedQRCodeReader, and possibly note the pareto frontier when given a list of test results. An extra info to note: it would be useful to have a "test mode" for phone-to-phone communication, and see if shutter speed and resolution can have an effect.

I am trying to build the android app for the reader. Seems like the latest version 8.9.0 of DynamicSoft DBR is not working. Could you please share which version should be used to build this android app?
