I've found that many users will just go down a list of features and vote positively on everything they are even mildly interested in. The ability to specify a limit on the number of votes per user would force users to carefully choose which things they really want most.

I would like to know if there is a way to submit an attachment (i.e. picture) along with the user idea on front end submission.

On cached websites one can either disable caching for the ideas page or there could be a feature in the future to hide the buttons using Cookies and JavaScript to make it more dynamic.

Hey I like the plugin - but missing a features to close a idea - when the idea was add to the software

best with a short note - "added in version 3.0"

Right now ideas just have votes we don't know if any of the ideas are done, in the works, or won't ever be done. It would be great if there could be idea statuses. Ex.

• Completed
• In Progress
• Under Review
• Declined

This would be a huge help to both admins and users alike so both know what's going on.

Analyse if is feasible: add option to choose how many ideas show per "page"

Currently "draft" is used for the post status. I think it would make more sense to set it to "pending" so that WP core displays them as "Pending Review".

Verify: When you reset the votes, it then doesn't allow me to vote if I've already done it previously. If I haven't voted before, it seems to let me vote after the reset.

this is such a nice plugin worth to update.

This would be great if it had a shortcode so that you could publish the ideas on pages where the submission form was not found.

Users don't seem to search for other ideas. They'll quite often create identical or very similar ideas. When they do this it's important to be able to merge ideas & votes together. The old idea should redirect to the new idea for all future visitors.

I added some filters to my functions.php theme using Genesis Framework but the text isn't changed. Where do I have to add the filters to work? Thank you.

The shortcode [idea_factory hide_submit="off" hide_votes="off" hide_voting="off"] is not working. When trying to update page with it in the page, it gives this error: Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.

Just installed Version 1.2 (can be found at: http://attendee.events/denver-dev-day/ ) and it only allows a user to vote once for the entire list.

Hey folks, don't want to hijack this repository, but the code wasn't updated since 2015 with external PR unmerged.

I decided to fork this great plugin (thanks to @Tmeister), add the changes (and tested) made with the opened PR from here, and fix other things. It's working on WordPress 6.4.1.

I won't check the issues here, so feel free to create new ones on the fork or even better, open a PR as PHP isn't a language I used for years, and I'm not a WordPress developer :)

My ideas aren't displaying on my site at the ideas page (http://www.pufferfishapps.com/ideas), and when I put in the shortcode, the ideas search bar displays but none of the ideas (http://www.pufferfishapps.com/resources/how-can-we-improve/). What do I do?

I just discovered this plugin. I haven't had time to test, but I'm seeing lots of posts about it not working on the most recent versions of WordPress. The demo site seems to have (at very least) some style issues going on. I'd like to use it, but don't care to spend time, if it doesn't work. Any chance it'll receive any love anytime soon?

The default /ideas/ archive page doesn't show up correctly, as you can see on the screenshot.

Tested it on multiple WP installations, with custom and default WP themes, tried to change / update permalinks etc. but nothing helps. Seems to be the problem that the archive page won't be loaded correctly.

When you get 10 ideas a day it's not very useful to have an email for every single one. It's much more useful to have a daily, weekly, or monthly summary.

Thanks for the nice plugin. I was developing a page and embedded this plugin into it. Now, I want to display the name of BuddyPress user who created the idea. Is it possible to have the name of user who created the idea for voting.

If an idea has 100 votes it would be fantastic to have a way to email all of the people who voted or commented on that idea. Quite often users will create a vague idea like "Multisite support" that could be many different things and you want to send out a survey to clarify any assumptions.
