I'm wondering if the firmware could be modified to have a skip on boot key, similar to the MicroDrive or a recent patch for the Dan ][ SD card. For reference:

Being able to hold escape or a different key during poweron to skip the ROM drive would be a very useful feature. Thanks for your consideration.

I reviewed the code and have just a minor comment: $Cn26 should be "0D" and $CnEA should be "A0".

In a stress test, sometimes there are random read failures. This appears to be caused by an oversight where the data lines are not properly buffered. This mistake was made because the schematic was hard to read. It was found cleaning up #8 .

I ran across this project (ProDOS-ROM-Drive) of yours while researching my own apple2 IO board project.

During my reasearch I found this article from Apple which contains code that can determine the slot number it is executing from. I thought this could be of interest for this project or your other project (Apple2-IO-RPi).

I am trying to find a BOM just for the sake of parts ordering and keeping proper notes. I can't seem to find the BOM, am I missing it?

It's very hard to follow what is going on where

Not a bug, but I don't know how to report that anywhere else!

I just got a 3.5Mhz Accelerator IIe card, and I tried first in 'slow mode' where you configure the card to slow down accesses to the slot you want, as well as slow down the access to the IO memory.
It works fine of course, but then I tried to disable the slowdown on both card and IO memory access and ... it still works great!

So well done ;-)

I'm having issues getting this to boot and wondering if you are able to point me in the right direction.

I've build one of these cards and have written the GamesWithFirmware.po to a 27C801 and verified ok. Have also tested all the logic chips and double checked my soldering - all good.

When I bootup the computer ProDOS starts but it crashes with a error on startup.

I don't have access to a disk drive to test a normal bootup but have run the internal diagnostics (Apple iie Enhanced) and get the system ok.

The firmware should be stored inside the SOS boot block to allow for a full 1 MB drive image.
