cwcon13's Issues

Question: Rewards/infrastructure for graduate students?

Great presentation, Tim!

I can't make it to CWCON this year, but I just wanted to ask the following questions related to the topic of rewards and infrastructure.

I've noticed that many folks rely on Wordpress or the Adobe Suites, if they need to create this type of scholarship. I understand why, since the learning curve to create a webtext can be quite steep, and time is quite precious as a graduate student. With that in mind, I'm curious: what incentives do you see departments creating for their grad students to pursue these skills? Is it baked into the curriculum? Should there be cross-disciplinary coursework involved?

Also, what role, if any, do you think digital journals and presses should play to help facilitate and foster proceduracy?
