GamepadUWP

Sample code to read Xbox one gamepad controller on a Universal Windows Platform (UWP)

The app shows all buttons and triggers that are pressed. It also shows the events (GamepadAdded, GamepadRemoved, HeadsetConnected, etc). It was tested in Xbox One and PC with the xbox controller connected via USB.

Gamepad disconnection not detected on Windows 11

There appears to be a Windows 11 compatibility issue with this project and, more specifically, with the Windows.Gaming.Input library. That is, Windows.Gaming.Input.Gamepad fails to issue a GamepadRemoved event on the latest version of Windows 11 when a gamepad is physically disconnected. Until the underlying cause is properly addressed by Microsoft, perhaps there's an alternative means of detecting gamepad removal?
