adventure_channel's Issues

Tests involving checking $MessagesPM sometimes fail

Here's the output from a binding.pry section that caught the failure in action.

From: adventure_channel/spec/adventure_channel_spec.rb @ line 37 :

    32:       resetMessageBuffers
    33:       adventure_channel_user.send "!inventory"
    34:       wait_for_messages_pm(3)
    35:
    36: # TODO: Figure out why this test sometiems fails...
 => 37:       binding.pry if $MessagesPM.first != "Backpack Contents:"
    38:
    39:       expect($MessagesPM.first).to eq("Backpack Contents:")
    40:
    41:
    42:       # Can Initiate a battle

[1] pry(#<RSpec::ExampleGroups::AdventureChannel>)> $MessagesPM
=> [" > Laptop rolling something linux based", "Backpack Contents:", " > Laser"]

Oddly enough, in my IRC client, I see the items in the usual, expected order, so they're being loaded into $MessagesPM all funky. Since multiple threads are at work... I'd bet this is some kind of a thread safety issue.

As a work around, I could check to see that $MessagesPM includes the expected test... but failed test output will look pretty horrible in that case...
