intrometadata's Issues

Verify citation formats

Two chapters ("Metadata and the Web" and "Metadata Matters") have single original authors and then one or more secondary authors who revised or assisted on revising the chapter for this edition. These secondary authors need to be worked in to the Cite this Page function.

Also, as this is the third edition of an edited volume, we need to confirm the Chicago and MLA formatting for the Cite this Page citations, as well as the main book citations on the About page.

Add links and text regarding other available editions

Need to link to older editions as they are available online, and make sure it's clear that this is the third edition. Will work with GRI web group to make sure older editions are similarly labeled and linked back to the newest edition.

Fix in-text links in epub chapters

Right now the Epub version of the book that Canto is generating is riddled with non-working inter-chapter links (anchor links within chapters seem to work fine).

This is happening because Middleman's link_to helpers are still re-writing the links to use directory indexes, since this option has been specified in the config for the site.

This needs to somehow be turned off during epub generation so that these links don't have to be manually re-written.

Table Modals?

The book includes seven text tables, spread across three different chapters ("Setting the Stage", "Metadata Matters", and "Rights Metadata Made Simple"). Each table is in straight HTML, in its own individual partial, and called in the chapter markdown with an erb tag. For example:

**Table 1. A Typology of Data Standards**

<%= partial "assets/tables/typology-of-data-standards.html" %>

The tables are fairly legible even inline but some could benefit from more of a full-screen viewing option. Would it be possible to use the partials to create a pop-up modal for each of the tables? That perhaps users could access with a simple icon, like:
