First thanks for building this awesome addon.
Paperless rocks. Being able to effortlessly run it within my HA setup rocks even more!
It would be great to have paperless integrated in the sidebar with "automatic" login for easy access.
The feature is called Ingress.

Hello,
@TheBestMoshe do you still maintain that repo? I don't see activity since February. It is just a question. I don't want to push you or anything else.
Thanks, Thomas
AFAIU the publish action is not run as there is no release tagged.
Can't install cyclickdevelopment/paperless-ng-addon-amd64:1.5.0-0: 404 Client Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.41/images/create?tag=1.5.0-0&fromImage=cyclickdevelopment%2Fpaperless-ng-addon-amd64: Not Found ("manifest for cyclickdevelopment/paperless-ng-addon-amd64:1.5.0-0 not found: manifest unknown: manifest unknown")
Latest release on docker hub is 0.2.2, see https://hub.docker.com/r/cyclickdevelopment/paperless-ng-addon-amd64/tags
It looks like we can save some 200-300 MB on the final Docker image size. I have made a start on this here.
The Dockerfile is less readable as a result, but I guess that's the tradeoff.
The development on the paperless-ng repo has stalled and thus new development is done in a forked version on https://github.com/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx
Would be amazing if your home assistant plugin would also support paperless-ngx
After updating to v.1.7.0 I tried to access paperless from outside through Nginx Proxy Manager.
The login page does load, so the reverse proxy seems to work fine.
But after logging in, I only get this 'CSRF verification failed' error message:
paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx#712
The URL is set up correctly in form of:
url: https://paperless.mydomain.com
Any ideas? I did already restart HA and the whole machine.
I'm not sure if paperless-ngx does really receive the correct URL setting.
Just as a friendly information. Currently two persons seem to be developing seperate on the same addon. Wouldnt it make sense to combine your two repository to one and work together on it?
Paperless has a number of environment variables to configure it (https://paperless-ngx.readthedocs.io/en/latest/configuration.html) For example, PAPERLESS_CONVERT_MEMORY_LIMIT
may need to be set on lower powered devices such as a Raspberry Pi to avoid OOM.
Whenever the addon changes version numbers, we should automatically build the Docker containers for each platform using GitHub Actions
Hello,
Firstly thanks for creating this addon - it came at just the right time for me! It has been working great for me so far.
Are you going to update to the latest version of paperless-ng
? I see that currently you're using 0.9.13
which is labelled as 'pre-release', but 1.1.0
is available and marked as a as 'Release' which has some useful looking changes.
Do you know if there is any awkward migration path for upgrading?
Thanks again.
Hi!
Are there any plans to update the paperless version? As I understand it, only the Dockerfile has to be adapted so that another Paperless version can be used. Is the change that simple, or do you see more problems?
Many greetings
Oliver
Note: Paperless no longer depends on libpoppler-cpp-dev
. This can now be removed from the Dockerfile.
This is not an issue per se, it’s more of a „would you also be interested in this?“ question/request for feedback.
I started using paperless-ng not long ago and thought about adding even more automation to it - such as Home Assistant notifying me about new documents, finished document processing, whatever nice things we can do with it.
So I thought about writing an integration for paperless-ng that uses paperless-ng's REST API to produce some useful sensors.
@TheBestMoshe Is this something that you would like to have/would use?
I know what paperless-ng does (no need to explain that in readme), instead maybe explain what the addons can be used for? I still don't get what the integration with home assistant would do.
paperless-ng says it supports word docs
Paperless can make use of Tika and Gotenberg for parsing and converting “Office” documents (such as “.doc”, “.xlsx” and “.odt”). If you wish to use this, you must provide a Tika server and a Gotenberg server, configure their endpoints, and enable the feature.
Is there any chance of getting this in the HA addon?
I get
Error response from daemon: pull access denied for moshegrun/paperless-ngx-addon-amd64, repository does not exist or may require 'docker login': denied: requested access to the resource is denied
HA supervised on AMD64. That is the error when I try docker pull, in the HA UI it says
Can't install moshegrun/paperless-ngx-addon-amd64:1.6.0-0: 404 Client Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.41/images/create?tag=1.6.0-0&fromImage=moshegrun%2Fpaperless-ngx-addon-amd64&platform=linux%2Famd64: Not Found ("pull access denied for moshegrun/paperless-ngx-addon-amd64, repository does not exist or may require 'docker login': denied: requested access to the resource is denied")
How can I change the time zone for this addon?
paperless-ngx runs in UTC on my machine.
Usually, it is set here
PAPERLESS_TIME_ZONE=<timezone>
