Seems like linting needs to be done through diagnosticls, or efm.

Whilst the bootstrap.bat hack works, it's not great. It has failed and made a mess over time.

It would also be nice to include other features such as "install this package, etc." to bootstrap more than just my dotfiles.

Options:

• Ansible - seems overkill, but I'm very familiar
• Salt/Puppet - also overkill

I prefer to use symlinks with chezmoi because it fits my previous workflow.

Unfortunately this makes dealing with OS’ with different default paths tricky. For example neovim’s stdpath differs out of the box on Windows and Linux. Whilst I can deal with this per-app, it often has ramifications, for example setting XDG_CONFIG_PATH to ~/.config on Windows sorts neovim, but breaks other stuff.

Options:

1. Stop using symlink functionality within chezmoi and use the recommended flow (templates and if statements) - unlikely.
2. Switch back to the combined batch/bash script - unlikely - it had issues and I’m just making a bad version of other software.
3. Stow - unlikely - doesn’t really solve my problem, but mentioning it for completeness.
4. Comtrya - maybe - immature, but also fills other gaps
5. Ansible - unlikely - running on Windows is iffy
6. ???
