Alien Assault Traders is an online, web-based, turn-based strategy space trading game forked off the source of both BlackNova Traders (BNT) and Nova Gaming System (NGS) and inspired by the popular BBS game of TradeWars. Alien Assault Traders derived from NGS. In playing NGS we felt that the game we wanted to play was a different direction than what the author of NGS was going. We forked off NGS and derived the new game that we now call Alien Assault Traders.

Our goal was to create a game that was fast paced, with a high level of variety and options, very balanced and have a way where with enough strategy, planning and good team play, any body could be at the top of the rankings.

PHP 5.6 removes mysql driver - change to mysqli

After setting up the game running on a host running PHP 5.6.22, I realized that the mysql_connect() and related functions were deprecated some time ago, and removed during the 5.6 series, and yet the installer restricts the database type to only use this driver. After changing the config's specified db driver to "mysqli", I've found that AdoDbLite and the game works properly.

PHP 5.5 is reaching end of life next month while 5.6 will receive security-related patches through the end of 2018. This simple change would allow it to be run on relatively modern LAMP stacks for several more years.

HTTP 500 error on index

Hello, maybe anybody could help me. Don´t know what I am doing wrong, but after the installation and creation of a game universe, I get a HTTP 500 error for some reason.

Anybody can help me with this, please?
