Auth with Firebase

Basic auth with Firebase Auth REST API.

Using Redux Toolkit for global state management.

.env file

React apps initialized using create-react-app have .dotenv pacgkage built in, and need to have the REACT_APP prefix to the environment variables. More about these here.

To access these .env variables, use process.env.<variable_name>.

Here's an example of what the .env file looks like:

Memory Leak on Logout

PROBLEM

App does not break, but displays a warning in the console stating that the app tried to update the state on an unmounted component, which is a no-op.

DESCRIPTION

The warning error originates in the custom useHttp hook, where the responseData is being set to the response received from the Firebase REST API end-point.

The state update is triggered by the submitFormHandler and propagated to passwordChangeHandler, which triggers the call to the sendRequest() function in the custom hook.

ATTACHMENTS

Below screenshot includes the Redux global state change on auth/logout, which probably is causing the state update when the component gets unmounted.
