Extension not working.
The extension is not working.I am using ubuntu 16.04 and no new window opens on clicking it.It was working last month.
it grabs the url but does not play
the hotstar-linux extension grabs url in m3u8 player but play button does not seem to work. the screen remains blank in chrome.

Not working anymore.
This extension might have worked in the past. I recently stumbled upon a similar problem while accessing the premium hotstar videos on linux. It really pains a lot that the videos don't play properly on the google chrome browser for linux. So, tried your solution, but no luck. Might be good if you work it around a bit more.
This solution seems to work only for 10minutes
The response from the API mentioned in content.js has an expiry time that is 10minutes from start.
I have to reload every 10 minutes, turned out to be a hassle.
