benchmark_go_closures's Issues

New, better results

Hey! I googled the overhead of closures and go and read your article. Curious to see if anything had changed, I ran it on go 1.3 (you created this benchmark in 2012 so I assume you used go 1.0). The results are much more positive:

testing: warning: no tests to run
PASS
BenchmarkAnonymousFunction 1000000000 2.93 ns/op 0 B/op 0 allocs/op
BenchmarkClosure 500000000 3.33 ns/op 0 B/op 0 allocs/op
BenchmarkNormalFunction 2000000000 0.84 ns/op 0 B/op 0 allocs/op

Closures now have almost negligible overhead as well! I remember reading about the fact that this was changed in Go 1.1.

Just a heads up.
