This module provides a framework to provide a normalized set of parameters to import virtual appliances in OVA or OVF formats into VMware vSphere environments via PowerCLI.

The function Confirm-DNS uses the variable $ValidateDnsEntries that is not defined/used anywhere else.
It would be a nice feature if the appliances functions supported the WhatIf common parameter.
This would allow the caller to check the validity of his parameters without actually importing the OVA
The Confirm-BackingNetwork function only supports distributed switches.
When one passes a PortGroup on a VSS, the function returns an error "Cannot validate argument on parameter 'VDSwitch'"
The function uses the $vami variable to access the OVF properties.
The name of the variable should be $ApplianceType
Some cmdlets in the Confirm-BackingNetwork function display their output on the console.
This is confusing/distracting.
The way the appliances functions are loaded (through dot-sourcing), does 't support auto-loading.
The module has to be loaded explicitly through Import-Module.
To validate changes, introduce Pester Unit tests
At some point it would be handy of the module is available in the PowerShell Gallery.
Allows a simple Install-Module.
The Examples in the Appliance functions use a larger number of parameters.
To improve readability I suggest to use splatting.
The type declaration of parameter $ovfconfig is missing in function Write-OVFValues
No parameter declaration in function Set-DefaultGateway
The parameters passed to the Confirm-DNS function are incomplete and have an incorrect entry for IPAddress.
No parameter declaration in Import-Appliance
When trying to import the vApp and the VM already exists, the import will fail.
To allow the user to specify that the existing VM can be removed before the import, the NoClobber switch can be set to $false
The $Activity variable is used in several internal functions, but is not passed as a parameter to these functions.
The calls to the Confirm-BackingNetwork function do not include the VMHost parameter.
This causes an error in case a VSS portgroup is provided.
