When selecting text the region of selection can pretty much only be expanded, in the clip here I am holding shift and using the left & right arrow keys. Both keys cause the selection to expand.

When making and then deleting a space after a word, an empty string element is appended on as a child of the contenteditable div.

These elements build up and only seem to be able to be destroyed if the whole div is destroyed, they even stick around after a submit event. This means they can build up indefinitely over time, not seen any performance hit in practice as yet but it seems like something that should be dealt with.

When enough text is in the box, using the arrow keys to navigate the caret around results in the text itself shifting in a strange manner. In the clip here, after pasting I'm only pressing arrow keys and it's resulting in unsettling movement:

The default ctrl-c to clear input shortcut overlaps the copy shortcut in windows and produces unexpected behaviour.
