taira-keyboard's Issues

Column Stopped Working

First, thanks for this project, I have enjoyed my keyboard for many months now.

Second, Just recently a column stopped working. I tried re-soldering what I think were the connections to the board and that did nothing. I am here asking for advice on how to trouble shoot or fix. It is the second column (going left to right) on the left side.

PCB and plates thickness and material questions.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing this awesome project.
I'm currently in process of ordering pcbs and plates from jlcpcb to build taira keyboard. I've stumbled upon several very basic questions I couldn't find answers for:

  • Is default 1.6mm a good thickness for both pcbs and top/bottom plates?
  • Could I order top and bottom plates in aluminum? Is it a good idea in the first place?
  • BOM mentions Spacer M2 4mm, but according parts link is pointing at 2x3mm spacer, am i missing something?

Thanks again.

Use without the hotswap plates?

Firstly, thanks for sharing.
I already have the switches, no interest in using the plates, I notice from the pictures that it has unpadded holes, are those choc compatible? It's just a matter of 'tinning' the pads with KiCad ? or it's lacking the internal wiring for it? I'm a full noob in this custom pcb realm.
Thanks again
