I've been looking at this repo to see how we could be adding heatmap functionality for @MapServer, and was wondering under what licence this code was published in. In the eventuality that we can re-use some bits, I also have a couple of patches you might be interested in, regarding extending the burring filter to the image borders, and somewhat speeding up the vertical kernel application to benefit from better memory locality.
