Download and Installation

To begin using this template, choose one of the following options to get started:

Usage

Basic Usage

After downloading, simply edit the HTML and CSS files included with dist directory. These are the only files you need to worry about, you can ignore everything else! To preview the changes you make to the code, you can open the index.html file in your web browser.

Advanced Usage

Clone the source files of the theme and navigate into the theme's root directory. Run npm install and then run npm start which will open up a preview of the template in your default browser, watch for changes to core template files, and live reload the browser when changes are saved. You can view the package.json file to see which scripts are included.

npm Scripts

  • npm run build builds the project - this builds assets, HTML, JS, and CSS into dist
  • npm run build:assets copies the files in the src/assets/ directory into dist
  • npm run build:pug compiles the Pug located in the src/pug/ directory into dist
  • npm run build:scripts brings the src/js/scripts.js file into dist
  • npm run build:scss compiles the SCSS files located in the src/scss/ directory into dist
  • npm run clean deletes the dist directory to prepare for rebuilding the project
  • npm run start:debug runs the project in debug mode
  • npm start or npm run start runs the project, launches a live preview in your default browser, and watches for changes made to files in src

You must have npm installed in order to use this build environment.

Buttons not working

Hello,

I’ve ported this code base over to an S3 bucket and am building a custom form to leverage Lamda to send inquiries. Unfortunately, I cannot get any buttons on the website to function - both the mobile menu button and the contact form button seem to be non clickable.

The site is hosted at northtexasroofdoctors.com and the form is at northtexasroofdoctors.com/store.html. Just for reference, I have purposely forced the mobile menu to remain open since the button won’t function.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Conflicting licenses

I am currently in the process of building a site using this theme. I noticed that on startbootstrap.com and on the github repository, it indicates that the theme is under the MIT license. However, when I downloaded the files from startbootstrap.com, the LICENSE file has the Apache 2.0 license in it? I was just wondering which license this code is under as the Apache license from what I know, would require me to mark where I modify the code.

Update to Boostrap 4?

Thanks for the template. I've been trying to integrate it with an Elm front-end, using Elm's bootstrap packages to output the template. I'll make it more dynamic in future, but for the moment, just trying to output the exact template.

I've run into issue though as this is a Bootstrap 3 template, and Bootstrap 4 is latest, so some of the CSS in the new boostrap version takes precedence over this template's custom CSS and they styles aren't applied.

Any chance of a Bootstrap 4 update, is that on a roadmap? Thanks.

gulp 4 support

See zamphion fork for immediate gulp 4 file, pull req. is in play.

Contact Form

Where do you find the "form" in the contact.html file. I am trying to sync my email with the contact form. I cannot find any file that I can enter a email into. please help

Suggested tweak to .cta-inner:before styling to fix unclickable hyperlinks on store.html container

I'm using this template for a website, and repurposed the store.html layout for a contact us page, since I liked the layout.

The .cta-inner:before styling that's doing that lovely border causes some z-index issues if you have hyperlinks in that content. I added a negative z-index value to the CSS there to fix this after researching it a bit, and that fixed it right up. Not sure if that's a change y'all would like to make in the template, but it might be helpful for other folks!
