CleanShave

An Angular 2 application with ASP.NET 5

Getting Started

The application is built on rc1 of ASP.NET 5, refer to http://docs.asp.net to install.

Fork and clone the site
Run npm install
Run dnu restore to restore the .NET dependencies
Open Terminal window and execute npm start. This command runs the gulp build task, then starts nodemon for dnx web. The nodemon process will watch for any changes to the C# code and/or JavaScript files (transpiled from tsc) and restart then kestrel server.
Open http://localhost:5000

Using Visual Studio 2015

To open in VS you need to open using the git connector.

Then open the project.json file. Be sure to have the ASPNET 5 file/project type selected.

a Before Build step to have the gulp tasks run and build/compile the typescript and angular 2 project portions if you are just going to F5.

*** note that there is bug in the VS tooling for restoring the @reactivex/rxjs npm package use the command line tool and npm install to get the npm packages restored

Can't open with VS2015

I can get it working from the command line (npm start) but when I open the project with Visual Studio I'm in a world of hurt.

Out the bat it tries to update the dependencies but fails:

If I try to build the project I get:

At this point I figure I'm missing a typed file so I add tsd install es6-shim (jasmine too for good measure). I try to build the project and now I get:

Key point as I see it: Expected coreclr library not found in package graph. Please try running dotnet restore again.

At this point I don't know what to do because I'm pretty sure I shouldn't run dotnet restore... but I do it anyway and the project now breaks even in the console.

'dnu' is not recognized an internal or external command

I have installed the RC 1 updates for VS and ASP.NET 5 and I think I ran all the necessary commands on the command line, but I can not seem to get DNU restore to work? Any ideas?

I ran this repo with dotnet restore and had the same errors when I tried it with trails.
Guess the dependencies have changed and Program.cs now has a Main Method.

Was wondering if this repo was for your bash script, or you might update it,
to work with dotnet restore like here:
https://github.com/aspnet/cli-samples

dotnet console hello world was easy to run but as soon as I tried to use it with
web projects I got all sorts of library exceptions.

Adding 3rd Party Libraries and typescript

What are the steps to add a 3rd party libraries?
I was trying to add https://www.npmjs.com/package/ng2-bootstrap

How would you automatically compile TS?

Getting some sort of browser.d.ts errors and Promise errors

I am getting errors related to the above and over a 100 pointing to promise.d.ts

TS2661 Build: Cannot re-export name that is not defined in the module.

I am not sure how to fix it but it doesn't seem to compile at all...has anyone ran into this issue? or how to fix it?

Some of the solutions suggested putting in "typings/browser.d.ts" in the "exclude" section of tsconfig but it doesn't seem to solve anything. I am unfamiliar with this to be able to figure it out.
