The event description is the minimal information about the event itself, so the NOT NULL constraint on DESC column is correct.
The PARAMS column instead can be null: it depends on the event type and its handler.

Description

The language used by the JPivot engine must be the language of the portal. Now JPivot engine uses the language of the user browser. The language synchronization could be implemented passing a parameter from the spagobi core platform to the engine. Obviously the parameter (inserted by the driver) must indicate the language of the user portal.

SpagoBIJPivotEngine language is synchronized with the portal locale: when the document is executed, the driver passes to the engine the locale parameters and labels are displayed using that locale (if the messages for that locale are available).
Supported languages are english and italian.

Description

If a user insert a new functionality with code or name containing the characters \ or / then the platform throws an exception. The solution is to add a validation to the fileds in order to not validate strings containig some special characters. Maybe also the check inside the module that manage the functionalities should be implemented.

Description

Jpivot uses cookies. There are some cases when Jpivot doens't recognize cookies and then it foward the user to the index page. An example case is this one:

the engine is deployed over an application server
there is a web server ahead the application server
the user authentication is done with a single sign on (the sso module is installed in another server)
the user are able to connect to jpivot engine and execute the first query
when the user try to drill usign explorer 7 and the security level of cookies is height jpivot show the index page
It's necessary to undestand how jpivot use cookies in order to solve problems like the one reported above.

It would be useful that the default group by condition would be automatically generated by the QbE, listing all the fields not under aggregation the select clause.
In any case, it would be useful that the error generated by a wrong group by condition would be more effective.

Description

The dashboard composition engine generates a page which can contain more than one dashboard.
Each dashboard receives different data.
The problem is that the data for all the dashboards is produced by an unique lov which compose data in a unique response.
To improve this behaviour:

each dashboard is associated with a different lov
the page which contains the dashboards must collect the lov names (for all the page dashboard)
the dashboard page call (using ajax) the dashboard service passing all the lov name
the dashboard service execs all the lovs sent by the page, collects all the results into a unique response and send it back to the page.

Into the execution workspace portlet if the user execs a document with PDF output and then he selects the maximize button the behaviour is wrong:

firefox resize the document area but doens't show the pdf

Using this platform:

windows 2000
jboss
the installer seems to not work. It seems that the problem is the cms.
Moving the cms repository folder inside the root of the server it starts to work.
It' s necessary to check this behaviour and envetually the solution can be to copy the cms folder inside the server root and not inside the spagobi context

The imported booklet documents doens't work. The problem seems to be a reference to document ids into the cms (after the import the document ids are changed). The solution is to refer document label and not id.

The worklist doesn't have a refresh button. Now if the user want to refresh the list he has to change page and then return to the list. A new refresh button must be place in the title bar of the worklist.

REPORT_LOCALE parameter

Hi,
I'm using this version of SpagoBI, REST services are excellent with Jasper Reports, but i have one thing that is not clear to me:

Jasper uses REPORT_LOCALE parameter for localization
I don't know how to send this parameter via SpagoBI REST API
I tried to define parmeters reportLocale, userLocale, language in both Spago and Jasper and then send it via REST, but it didn't work. I tried to make REPORT_LOCALE parameter in Spago, but it is not passed to Jasper.

I noticed that if I switch language in Spago, that change is passed to REPORT_LOCALE, but I have to call Jasper report via SpagoBI REST.

How to do that?

Enlarged the dimension of the div which contains the name. If the role name is longer than 50 characters it will be truncate (and it will end with ...). The complete name appear (as a tooltip) if you move the mouse over the role name

Description

We have found a little Bug on LOV savign.
I i try to create a new LOV with input Type: Query and i write a query contain the < sign, th e parameter fails.
I have find that in the lov_provider field the xml contains the LOV definition fail, because the '<' is interpreted as tag!

When a filter is defined on a field of a table of a datamart. You can overwrite the filter is the expert mode query. For example, if you have :

F{id.directionid} = 117

The user can change this restriction. Indeed the restriction condition is showed in the expert mode

That's not a bug. That's exactly the expected behaviour. If you want to have strong profilation you have to disable the expert mode modality

Description

The dashboard servlet returns the lov result but also the lov metadata (invisible and visible columns, ...). Moreover the order of a query fields is changed in alphabetical order. These erros cause some problems with dashboard visualization. For example, with column dashboard: 1) the column are not show because of the metadata xml returned by the dashboard servlet 2) if the lov is a query and the field which give name to columns is not the first one returned, the the first column as no name.

A first correction (for the metadata lov problem) have been made but is only a workaround of the problem and it must be revisioned: the lov result is parsed and the metadalov is deleted before the servlet returns the response.

Hello ,
I encountered a problem (reported many times in the old mail-archive area but I don't find any answer)
In fact, I try to add a new portlet within a community portal,
I go to the right page
I click on edit mode
I click to add a portlet
I choose spagobi/SBIFunctionality
I have now a tree view for the available report
I choose the right one (jasper)
I save ... and if I go back to the page in normal mode I see a tree instead of the report.
I detected , if I want to see the new portlet preference I just can see "creator " "modifier" and "save"
A guy help me to directly adding the portlet preference in the database (table exo_page) and it works, I can see portlet preference but I can not changeit (the change I made are not stored)

Can somebody help me to configure my portal with the admin interface ?

Note: I am french, could it be french caracter problem ?

The new mondrian engine give many new functions, for example you can reorder your results... This kind of functions is very usefull. The last stable version of mondrian is : Mondrian-2.3.2 (march 2007) and SpagoBI interates the 2.0.1 version (dec 2005).

Description

The installation over a jboss server seems to not consider the logging configuration of SpagoBI. The engines logs file are not created and all is logged into the console (this is the base configuration of jboss 4.0.3SP1). Probably this could be related to the deletion of the log4j jar from the libraries of the engines and the core.

The path of a functionality is composed by the parent path and the code of the functionality. If a user change the code also the path should change but this doens't happen. It's necesary to solve this problem inside the functionality module and dao.

Obviously, when the code (and consequently the path) of a folder is changed, the path of the sub-folders are changed accordingly.

When I create a new sub-folder in the functionalities tree it is not possible to define its position relating to the existing others having the same level in the hierarchy. The new folder is always placed in the last position and it is not possible to change the order of the different sub-forder.

The it.eng.spagobi.presentation.tags.ListTag is correct: if the field is null it shows an empty string.
The problem is in the documents list module that writes "null" as attribute value.

Spago it.eng.spago.message.MessageBundle class looks for language and country parameters into the PermanentContainer of the SessionContainer. These parameters should be set at login operation and refreshed on each jsp because, when the portlet language is changed, the page (or action) is not executed, but only its presentation. The actual problem is that the error descriction is built during page (or action) logic, not on its presentation!

Description

The rotation dashboard obtains the value to show from an xml table. The xml table is derived from a LOV. When the dashboard receives the xml table data it searches for a column named 'value' (this is the default column name) and then it takes the value of the column. This means that the LOV must return a column named 'value'. The name of the column which contains the value to show can be send to the dashboard as a parameter (configuring the template). The template must contains a parameter like this : (see also the documentation of the dashboard).
Unfortunately the parameter setting seems not to work.

If the query LOV associated to a dashboard refers a profile attribute, the execution of the dashboard generates an error (while the test of the query LOV is processed without errors). This issue was not present in the version 1.9.1.

When an user enter a SpagoBI portlet, the user profile object is stored also in http session through an Ajax call. In this way, the user profile object is available during dashboards' requests processing.

Feature request for Sbi.sdk.api.dataSourceList: {}

Hi,

I was working on SpagoBISDK to embed parts of SpagoBI Suite inside a web application, and i found that there is only api for GetDataSet() and not for GetDataSource(), is it possible to get the Data Source List using REST services Javascript API.

If this is possible please tell me the approaches to do this.

Description

The engines need to know the context of the spagobi application to call some callback services (auditing, events ...). The context is passed as a parameter and it is calculated automatically during a normal execution. If the execution start form the scheduler is not possible to calculate dinamically the context and so it is read from a configuration file. The solution is to calculate the context, when the user insert the new job scheduled, and assign it automatically to the job as a parameter.
