I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it looks like the "Chat" button just isn't cooperating with the latest version of Trilium:

Even though the cursor does highlight and show the word "Chat" after resizing the window, when clicking, it does not perform any action.

However, it does work when using the hotkey.

Does this support gpt-4?

I tried changing "model": "gpt-4" in the options but gpt still claims to be using GPT-3...

Hi - really keen to check out this functionality in Trilium.

Have been working on this this afternoon but struggling to follow set up steps - possible to add more detail?

Have tried
-copying trilium-chat.js into new note - adds the prompt and option child notes but don't work on reload

• copying main.js into note (after searching for a while - located in "src" folder), doesn't add the prompt and option notes
• copying the entire zip folder (after changing nginx conf to increase upload file size)

With no success on getting up and running to now.

Would you be able to detail more steps on initial set up? Thanks - mc

Hi! First off cool plugin!

I've been playing around with the plugin today and noticed that the prompts with {{activeNote}} won't load any notes into the chat that have any kind of styling on them - header, bullet points, etc. It also doesn't support webView notes. I may do more tests later to see if any other note types have issues.

ChatGPT's responses will use Markdown syntax, and it is recommended to display them in a way that supports Markdown parsing.

I'm sorry if the answer to this should be obvious, but does this plugin send note contents to any external servers for processing?

Having issues integrating my locally hosted api of llama3. I followed the instructions, yet it keeps prompting me to provide an api key for chatgpt. Not sure what more needs to be modified fro ollama to work, but I see that the requests arent even leaving the chat menu, so it seems to be an if check somewhere blocking it. Seems like just an oversight, or it is mostly in but not done.

Any help would be appreciated.

I like your approach. Having at least an openai interface within trilium and save stuff is useful.

Did you think about maybe do some knowledge retrieval with a vector database in the background? maybe we could create one vector for every note and save it as an attribute. so we could then actually chat with trilium.

There are some tools already like:

• https://github.com/imartinez/privateGPT that do something like this, however with markdown and python and all.
• Or maybe some inspiration here: https://github.com/gannonh/chatgpt-pgvector (using node.js)

Can you support using a proxy? I need to use a proxy to access chatgpt

I would like to suggest to support https://github.com/jmorganca/ollama for a fully selfhosted experience.

Absolutely love this add on. But, I did notice that it doesn't display code properly inside of the window. Is this something that could be fixed? No rush, just noticed it.
