[UX] Initial Configuration

The idea of the initial configuration could solve some of our issues with very little trade-off. I created this issue to start at least a discussion about the concept because this is new to Wasabi, but well-known for the majority.

Welcome screens could have several purposes:

  • It introduces users to the software, providing a basic overview or highlighting key features.
  • Guide users through the initial setup and configuration process.
  • By offering guidance right from the start, a welcome screen can make the software easier to use.

So our welcome screens could also be an initial configuration that contains the following pages:

  1. Greeting page

    • A welcoming opening screen can set a positive tone for the user experience. It reassures users that they are using a professional and well-maintained product.
  2. Background application

    • Short explanation about Wasabi is a background application and will continue operate when closed.
    • Show the setting on this dialog so users can disable in the case they don't want it. image
    • Fixes zkSNACKs#12704
  3. Coinjoin Configuration

    • This would be a page to select a DEFAULT coinjoin profile. A refactored dialog that is more obvious and simpler.
    • This means the CJ profile selection can be removed from wallet creation as a new wallet will always be created with the default profile.
    • This dialog would also tell a very little about the costs, people don't read at this point of the software and would not even remember it. They can still read more about it later. zkSNACKs#12865
    • Related:
  4. Create wallet, and so...

The trade-off here is +1 page when someone uses the software for the very first time. The benefit is they will be aware, it is a background app, and there is no CJ profile selection in the wallet creation flow.
Don't take the suggestion here at 100%, this is more about the concept of having an initial configuration on first use.
