sonicboom's Issues

[SUGGESTION] Make it more realism

Sonic booms don't only occur in air, they happen on trains and in one or two record holding cars.
I was very disappointed when my Mach 5 boat rail through the nether did not cause a sonic boom.
So, remove the condition for the boom to only happen when using elytra?

Please fix game version filing on modrinth for "v2.7 - Fabric - 1.20.1" to not be listed as a 1.21 mod.

I am referring to Sonic Boom 2.7 - Fabric - 1.20.1. I think you accidently left a checkbox ticked or something as the site-upload states it's for game version 1.20.1โ€“1.21 despite the file name suggesting it's just for 1.20.1.

This is problematic for mod managers that help users update mods they downloaded automatically. Currently. . . Sonic Boom 2.7 - Fabric - 1.20.1 is the newest listed version of the mod for 1.21. . . despite the version not being made for, nor does it even work on, mc 1.21.

Mod triggers on teleports

This is a really cool mod, adds a certain sense of immersion, especially if your character is a near-immortal multidimensional cyborg or whatever. BUT the mod triggers at anything remotely close to a teleport: entities and players going to sleep in beds, endermen teleporting around, ender pearls and other stuff like that. Maybe its possible to make the mod only work on players that are currently flying with an elytra?

Suggestions for expanding config

Hey thanks for adding my last suggestion! Now that you have a config set up, I thought I'd toss a few more ideas your way. You obviously don't have to implement all (or any!) of these, but I think they would really improve the practicability of your mod.

Config suggestions:

  • Add an option to specify the particle type used for the explosion, as well as particle size, amount, and duration.

  • Add an option to rotate the explosion particles to match the orientation (i.e. elytra pitch) of the player/entity. (does Minecraft already have a method for rotating particles? This might be too hard to implement if not)

  • Add an option to hide explosion particles from your own sonic booms when in first person. Can be off by default, but it would be nice to have the choice.

  • I'm sure you could swap in a custom sound via resourcepack, but it would be nice to have control over the dropoff distance and volume it plays at in-game.

Edit: submitted before I wrote the suggestions whoops

Config for velocity

Brilliant mod concept. It would be amazing if there was a config to set the explosion trigger to any specified velocity.
