3rd-party's Issues

AnyDesk unable to connect

I was able to use the instructions to install AnyDesk. It installed perfectly fine, but when trying to connect to another computer it gets stuck on the connecting screen. I cannot close out of the app. I have tried different things to get the app to close and it eventually locks up my computer.

I really hope this can be fixed because I have fallen in love with Solus, but not being able to remotely connect to my home computers is somewhat of a deal breaker.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Spotify outdated

The version of Spotify is not anymore on Spotify's repository, so installing Spotify fails. There are couple of newer packages available nowadays.

Webstorm - ERROR: Cannot start WebStorm\nRequired tools are missing - check beginning of "/usr/bin/webstorm" file for details.

Update Vivaldi to Beta Builds, including Snapshot option

As of November 4th, Vivaldi is no longer a Technical Preview. It is now considered Beta.

Note: Links below go directly to .deb files. Don't click unless, well you actually wanna download the deb file.

Please update to the latest beta build, which is 1.0.303.52-5.

I would also appreciate making available a vivaldi-snapshot package, which obviously undergoes faster iteration and more updates than their beta builds. Their latest Vivaldi Snapshot is (as of this issue comment) 1.0.330.3.

Some 3rd party package icons does not show up in the menu list

After installing Spotify and GitKtaken their icons did not show up in the menu list. As for Chrome and Rubymine I did not have this problem. So I am able to start these packages from terminal or from run dialog.

Additionally, after running I can pin packages with missing icon to task list, when I run spotify from pinned icon it doubles.

Scrivener installation

I believe something went wrong when installing scrivener. (on two computers)
Take a look where the icons of scrivener ended up.
scrivener
16x16 22x22 etc... 256x256 all hold the folder apps and inside it Scrivener.png

I was so certain scrivener was third party ... upon checking this topic should be moved somewhere else. I let you take care of it.

Android Studio 2.3.3

Hi Solus Devs, there is new version available for Android Studio.
Link: https://dl.google.com/dl/android/studio/ide-zips/2.3.3.0/android-studio-ide-162.4069837-linux.zip

Also for there is a problem for Android virtual emulator version 2.3.2 not being able to run unless I symlink the tools to the libstdc++.so.6.0.23 inside the system rather than using the libstdc++.so.6.0.22 provided inside the $ANDROID_SDK_HOME/emulator/tools/lib64/libstdc++/

Maybe the updates can help solving the problem above?

Thank you very much ๐Ÿ‘

Unturned Crashes Budgie

I have crashes when running Unturned that bring down Budgie too. The screen goes black and puts me back at a gdm login screen. (Sidenote: I installed GNOME a while ago so thats why I have it, still crashed the same way before it was installed) This does not seem to be an issue with Unity, as other games run perfectly fine.

Google Earth Update Required

Earth "Free" and Pro have now been combined into a single product, Earth Pro.

The Google Earth package will require a name change and update to the new version 7.3.0.3830. See here for release notes. Both this link and this link now point to the new google-earth-pro-stable package.

Spotify fails to install.

Hello,

Spotify fails to install because the deb file used to install it isn't found.

Looking at http://repository.spotify.com/pool/non-free/s/spotify-client/, the issue seems to be that the deb link is outdated.

On fresh install of Solus: 3rd party install of Spideroak fails with 127 command not found. Probably because ar is not part of vanilla Solus.

Skype of linux alpha

Hi,

I'm new to this awesome Solus project Distro.
So far I'm loving it ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I've seen that the skype thirdparty is using skypeforlinux_1.15.0.1_amd64.deb while the 1.16.0.1 is available, tested it to change the location + hash, and it seemed to work.
(Did this to test it a bit)
Another thing I found was 'libxscrnsaver-32bit' is added somehow to the dependencies, which is incorrect. This will add a lot of 32 bit libs which is incorrect, without it (tested it) it still works right,
or did I miss something?

Have never contributed yet to this 3rd party repository, so if you want me to fix that or guide me to the right place/owner? ๐Ÿ˜„

Cheers ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

Teamviewer not launching

Neither the Teamviewer 12 shortcut or the terminal command to launch Teamviewer will launch the program.
Have tried stopping and restarting the service, uninstall and reinstall.

Suggestion: Sublime Text

Since user repository was removed and that contained packaging Sublime Text to Solus..
I would suggest 3rd-party to support Sublime Text packaging? Is it possible?
