Waybar error

Hi, i still have problems with waybar-hyprland-git installation with the script and also with swww

WayBar CPU temp not updating

After a recent system update (im not sure when) the CPU temp display in the waybar is not updating it is stuck at 20C but in BTOP the temp is properly updating. I took a look at the waybar config and the variables have not been changed from default. I am wondering if anyone else has this issue/ where are the "temperatureF" and "temperatureC" variables in the waybar config.jsonc being defined.

Change wallpaper

Could you provide a tutorial on how to change wallpaper? I can change it with swww but I have to change it everytime i go into hyprland.

Fail to launch kitty or vim application

Hello, I am a newbie in Arch Linux. I've installed Hyprland referring to your script and video. But I encountered some problems, please tell me the log I need to provide and how to solve the problem.

I'm running the system in VMWare. After running your script, Hyprland is successfully installed. But I had problems with resolution and not being able to display the mouse. Shortly afterwards, I solved it by modifying ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf.

However, when I finally managed to get into Hyprland, I found that I couldn't start two applications, kitty and vim. Whether it is clicking the icon to open or triggering the shortcut super+q, nothing will happen. By the way, other applications, such as the configuration application of the network, etc., can pop up successfully.

I will sincerely appreciate it if you can help me. Thanks a lot.

Font issue in waybar

swappy-20230501_002558
so i updated my system, was watching a video on firefox got up and i must of hit the mouse to change the layouts and soon as i did they started to show like this when before their was no issue. not sure what caused this i used the script to install everything so i should have the fonts

First install, stuck at login screen

As a disclaimer I am running Hyprland within vmware. I am getting stuck in the login screen. My installation has no issues itself but I'm still getting stuck at the login screen.

Running on a Mac, Intel chip

Thanks

Small gift

Hi, dear developer! I watched your last video on YouTube about your config and installer! I'm going to use it in a few days when I have some free time to reinstall my system. I want to send you one of my drawings I've created. Maybe you'd like to use it as a background image for one of your configs =)
Use my drawing for any purposes you want =)

To render the SVG file with the same quality I've rendered, you need to use Inkscape from flatpak or from the official site. Otherwise you will get gradient banding. Also enable "Use dithering" in Preferences -> Rendering

Everything works perfectly except Kitty

All windows load except for Kitty. Kitty starts spazzing out and renders crazy patterns and I can't see anything inside the window. I have an Nvidia GPU so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I'm going to reinstall with alacrity and another more basic terminal but I'm curious if you have any idea on why it's acting up. or if there is anything I can check.
I have a 1080Ti if that means anything.

Is the installation still up?

Apparently when I tried git clone to repository it's asking for my username and password, does this mean the project is down or he's making any adjustments to the window manager? What am I doing wrong?

Low resolution on amd gpu

Installed on Lenovo flex5 and can't set resolution higher then 1280x720
amdgpu driver seem to work
Xorg logs show 1920x1080 modeline
Xrander shows low res modes only

Error when installing "Waybar-hyprland"

I tried following the steps in the video but ran into an issue after running ./set-hypr, the error seems to come from the command yay -S waybar-hyprland but I can’t seem to figure out why, apparently there is an error while compiling c++ files, I can’t copy paste but the last lines of the log are:
ninja: build stopped: subcommand failed. and A failure occurred in build(). Before that, in the log, there are a bunch of errors coming from ../src/modules/sway/ipc/client.cpp

Works great, apart from multi monitors

So I have 3 monitors, I have the main one in the middle 27" 1440p 165hz, and 2 to the right and left, both at 24" 1080p

When I want to go to the others I have to move mouse left and and they are not setup correctly, it;s like they are in a line to the left of the monitor but they are either side, can I change the location of the monitors?

So I go left and it goes to the left monitor and right to the right monitor? I know it's with in the hyprland.conf but first time using hyprland not sure what im doing TBH.

Wofi start issue in v2 waybar

Clicking the archicon in the upper left to launch wofi triggers strange behaviour.
Wherever I click on the waybar after that triggers wofistart again.

Can't get screensharing to work.. tried every step of the Thoubleshooting Checklist

Hello,
First, thanks for your work. It allowed me to step into the hyprland world quickly.
However, I encounter only one issue, and it's sceeensharing.

I've gone through hours of troubleshooting in the hyprland docs and the wlr docs wich hyprland suggested (like the Screen sharing on Hyprland or the "It doesn't work" Troubleshooting Checklist) but with no luck, everything mentioned by them is working already apart from one thing which looks odd and might be the cause of the problem:

This is the output of this command:

Lots of errors here, might be related I guess ?
Thank you for your help

Edit: maybe move to the zen kernel and paru?

Hey man!
First of, great script man! I do think when you're focussing on hyprerland's smoothness and possibpy to gaming it could be a good option to either default to the zen kernel or give the user the option to use it instead of the default kernel.

Other thing that might be useful is to switch kitty to alacritty and yay to paru (mainly cuz of the higher performance and the smoother nature of alacritty).

I've forked your v3 repo and if you're open to switch the script to these changes I'd be happy to push it as a PR.🤙

coredump in journal

Hi Sol!
journalctl -p 3 -xb generates this, thought I should mention it. Don't know if it has something to do with the script ?
