This feature is not implemented yet, but I think it is supposed to be one of the near-future planned work.

Am I right, @beck-llr @MickaelGrech ?

I would imagine this would require some careful modification of the fields while particles are injected, right ?

What if we deposit current similarly to the tunnel ionisation? We could view the new particles like ionized electrons which induce an opposite current.

In the end, that would do the same effect as putting positively charged particles that compensate exactly the current. But depositing an artificial current saves computing time

What do you think @MickaelGrech ?

Thank you both for your help. I will stay current on future releases of the code.

@mccoys I don't think current is the problem here (unless you inject relativistic particles) but rather charge conservation. In the case of ionization the charge is indeed conserved so it works.
Limiting the injection to quasi-neutral plasma coule be a good first step. In the meantime, and until further developments I suggest to close this issue.
