among-us-replayer's Issues

Kill/sabotage visibility

Knowing when a reactor hits or lights turn off is essencial to understand what is happening in a replay and why each player decided to take each action. Currently, this is not shown, as all sabotage related informations are omitted.

For the same reason, having full visibility of when an impostor has killed a crewmate, as well as how much time is left before it can kill again, is also important. Currently, this information is available, but only if the person watching the replay has her screen positioned near the kill. As for the kill cooldown, it can only be inferred, which consists in an UX disadvantage.

Suggestion

Keeping this in mind, I would like to suggest an event notification system on the side of the screen, consisting of a small box popping up when a sabotage/kill happens and fadding out after a couple of seconds. Also, a sabotage box could persist until the sabotage is fixed, showing clearly which crisis is current and what is the remaining time before disaster, if applicable (this is not excludent of possible future ambient effects).

I've done a quick sketch to illustrate:

among_us_replayer_suggestion

On the side, 3 boxes relay the following information:

  • black has called lights (fades out after a couple of seconds)
  • lights are off (persistent until lights are fixed)
  • black has killed yellow (fades out after a couple of seconds)

Also, and what comes as a second suggestion, a box showing black's kill cooldown is floating at it's side.

Error opening file

All necessary files are present...

Could this be an error due to the screen resolution?

Suggesting small improvements...

Would it be possible to add support of doors closing, reactor alarm flashing, Invisible while in vents? You could maybe just update the mod to log these events then add some more images and stuff into res... Something I personally would like to have is the option to go full screen by pressing F11 or just an option. Anyways Great Work!!!

Another Feature

If possible, adding a 'chat log' (a replay of the chat) would also be really helpful.

Multibyte characters are displayed as "□"

First, thank you for developing a very useful player.

Cannot identify multibyte player name.
Please change it to the character encoding system for multibyte characters.

New game assets

Add the new Player, Body and Ghost assets so the newer replays can be displayed.
There was also a change of the game assets on version 2021.6.15
Where the obvioused change is the rotation of the dead body

Unable to parse replay: timeline for player #5 ('name') is empty

This error message appears when I try to open the aurp-file and prevents me to view the file.
The reason: Player 5 left the game due to error at round start.
That player doesn't have a timeline.

My workaround is to remove that player and decrease the player-count in the file by using a HEX-Editor.
I managed to open the modified file with the replayer.

The replayer should ignore or remove the player if there is no timeline to begin with.

Hide/minimize player and file dialog windows

I've encountered this project recently and so far have not found a way to minimize (or completely hide) the two windows that overlay the replay, namelly the player and the file dialog tabs.

For me, they take a big portion of my screen and obstruct a considerable part of what is being reproduced (shown bellow).

Am I missing something? If not, I suggest that at least a minimize button is added to each of these windows. Either way, this is an UX issue.

Dynamic Lighting?

Is it possible to add the dynamic lighting from the among us engine?

Suggestion

Make it possible to minimize the file explorer window that popups on launch. Not a big issue but it would be much nicer being able to see the entire screen.
