SMASHBLOCK

This repo is a simple wrapping of hectorm/hblock designed to work with adgaurd that gets rebuilt every Monday morning.

Now the blocklist also includes The Quantum Ad-List and removes any duplicates.

Simply add the following url to your adguard filter list:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/smashah/smashblock/master/blocklist.txt

or if you want one with 127.0.0.1 redirects:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/smashah/smashblock/master/blocklist-r.txt

False Positives

This block list is designed to be overly protective. This means that sometimes a legitimate site ends up on the list. If you've identified a site that's not meant to be on the blocklist then please submit a PR with a change to false-positives.txt

Make sure to attach a urlscan.io report to your PR also e.g: urlscan result for openwa.dev

CREATE BDS BLOCKLISTS

I for one do not like genocide therefore I want a blocklist which is in line with BDS.

One should be an empty redirect and the other should redirect to some sort of explanation page or a pro-palestinian alternative.

How it'll work

Create simple space delimited file with BDS target domains and their corresponding alternative domains (if they exist)
Create a node script to generate 2 blocklists, 1 with empty redirs, another with alt/fallback redirs.
Add it to the Github action

False Positive Automation

Hello everyone,

Ever since the implementation of the Quantum Ad list there have been reports of some odd edge cases. For example, Behance, Beaverton and apparently some windows update false positives.

I was thinking of further fragmenting the block list into a set with quantum and a set without. But then what's the point of this whole project?

I started this project because I'm a lazy guy so in that theme, I was thinking of creating a false positive issue template and an automation which will automatically add a domain as false positive and remove it from the block list after a certain amount of "thumbs up"s + my own thumbs up and a quick check of the domain on urlscan.io

Think of it like a lazy PR.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the idea and/or any other (semi) automated solutions to false positive rectification.

The Openwall Project is a completely legitimate infosec focused group focused on free software, research, publications, community activities. You can see their Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openwall_Project. I see no sings of any malicious activity coming from them, yet, their domain name is in the list.
