In adafruit/circuitpython#6831 we are going to check that every board has a distinct creatorid:creationid. While in the past for vid:pid we have allowed boards that differ in a small detail, such as flash or ram configuration, to share an id, this should be unnecessary with the 32-bit space of creationids given to each creator.

If you like you can PR the fix into CircuitPython, or just let me know here or in adafruit/circuitpython#6831 what the new ID is and I'll roll that into the PR.
