tesla_dashcam_manager's Issues

error - missiong /dev/vchiq

Dont think i did anything wrong but perhaps something not installed on the RPi. I get this error. Any suggestions?

docker compose up -d
WARN[0000] /root/docks/dashcam/docker-compose.yml: version is obsolete
[+] Running 0/2
⠸ Network dashcam_default Created 6.4s
⠸ Container dashcam-tesla-dashcam-manager-1 Starting 6.3s
Error response from daemon: error gathering device information while adding custom device "/dev/vchiq": no such file or directory

Process does not start

Hi, the process doesn't start. I am using the default tesla-dashcam-manager docker-compose with edited volumes, TZ and arguments:
--title_screen_map --gpu --gpu_type=rpi --text_overlay_fmt "{event_timestamp} {event_city}" --layout WIDESCREEN --quality MEDIUM --fps 33

Hardware:

  • RPi Z W in a car
  • RPi 4 as a footage processor
  • NAS as a long-term raw footage storage
  • Web server storage for serving the edited files

Process:

  • RPi Z W offloads the footage to the NAS (working)
  • RPi 4 with access to the NAS footage AND web server storage (working)
    • original TeslaCam folder: /mnt/NAS/TeslaCam
    • long term storage: /mnt/NAS/TeslaRaw
    • Webserver: /mnt/WS/TeslaDashcam
  • Docker compose is linked with the above folders to docker /app/... folders, when I exec in the docker, I can manipulate the data so the access and chmod is ok

In the /mnt/NAS/TeslaCam folder I can see folders with dates (each event is its own folder).
RPi4 has access to all the data and folders. When the docker container starts, two folders are created inside /mnt/NAS/TeslaCam: "processing" and "work".

After that, nothing happens.

If anyone has any idea what I did wrong, please let me know! I am guessing that something is wrong with the folder setup. I have read all the Tesla_dashcam documentation and can't figure it out. Thank you!

Latest Tesla_dashcam

Hey Simon,

As an FYI, I've published new releases to tesla_dashcam which includes for example the title screen map (thank you) with a number of fixes and other improvements.
Might want to point back to Master.

RecentClips is unsupported

It appears that the manager is only picking up files that contains 'event.json'
However, the recent clips does not contain such file, so it's not being converted
