font-andika's Issues

Documentation error: OpenType tags do not use parameters

According to the documentation, this font dropped Graphite and now only offers OpenType features. In the features.pdf file, when presenting the available features, there is an error: for OpenType tags, parameters are ignored. Instead of using, as the documentation shows, smcp=1 you only need to use smcp in order to get small caps.

Tested on LibreOffice and XeTeX.

Issue with "ff" (2 consecutive "f" characters)

Hi, and thanks for the Andika font.

I'm writing a Java application which uses Apache PDFBox and the Andika font to write some strings into a PDF.
Everything is working fine, until I write some strings containing "ff" (or multiples: "ffff","ffffff", etc.): at this point the "ff" substring can be displayed in the PDF, but it's not properly selectable, like if it was an image not text.

I thought it was an issue with PDFBox, but changing the font to, for example, the included Helvetica gives the expected results.

At the same time, I tried to write some strings in LibreOffice Writer with Andika, and I saw that when writing "ff" the first "f" changes automatically (it becomes larger).

Is there some kind of mechanism doing some automatic magic transformation here?
If so, is there some way to disable it from an external software (PDFBox, LibreOffice, etc.)?

Thanks,
MZ

OTF version

Hello,
Please release also font with PostScript/CFF outlines (*.OTF) with psautohint.
On Windows with smoothing disabled, the OTF version of the font at small sizes looks much better than the TTF version.

Support for +sups, +subs, +sinf and +frac OpenType tags

Andika have all sub- and superscripts for numbers, but there is no OpenType option to quickly apply them, they need to be inserted as special characters. It would be really useful to have these options available for at least the numbers (and it would be great to have them for alphabetic characters too).

User case: set a style for footnote anchors that uses real superscripts instead of simulated ones.
