Great plugin. One issue I'm having is that I have no problem searching from the plex app but if I'm browsing plex from a web browser I'm unable to find a search box.

Hey, this isn't really a bug or anything but I can't figure out where the app stores downloaded files/movies. I have the feature turned on and I've dug around the file system a bit but don't see any movie files.
If you could help that would be great.

Would it be possible to implement playback in external player with BitTorrent.bundle? I am unable to play any torrent thus far in an external player on Ouya. It works fine for media otherwise on the Plex media server.

I read you said that earlier but i took a chance and give it a try anyway. The plugin itself seems to be working but whichever movie i select, it starts playing the trailer. I was hoping to get an error since it's not supported but i don't get any.

Please see the logs below. It does the same for any video (movie or tv). I can get all the metadata and everything, but as soon as I try to play the video, it gives a 500, saying the video is unavailable. It could possibly be that my ISP is blocking the traffic, but there should be a way around that seeing as uTorrent works fine. Popcorn time however doesn't, Not sure if its the bittorrent protocol or someting.

I have tried to get this working, I noticed that the service is raising the KA url for the movie as a service url which then plays the first vid it can find off that page (generally the trailer).

It looks as though it is not even using the media object.

AppleTV with Plexconnect and this plugin are very unstable. Most of the time the plugin either times out while loading a movie displaying an eventual error message stating that an error occurred loading this content. Now sometimes if you start the video over and over again sometimes it will eventually load but even if it does the plugin is unstable and minutes into video playback it eventually crashes the AppleTV causing the spinning circle resulting in you being brought back to the AppleTV Main Menu. Some info the Apple TV iOS Version is the latest 6.1 and Plex Media Server 0.9.9.7.429-f80a8d6 for OSX.

It seems every time I pause a video downloaded by Bittorrent plugin, the video eventually stops playing altogether (usually at some point afterwards during the video), that is, it abruptly returns to the video metadata information screen (i.e., the screen where after you push play, the video will attempt to load with a "Please wait" notice).

Does anyone else experience this problem?

Running:
Plex Server 0.9.11.7 on Ubuntu Server 14.04.01 x32.
Plex Home Theater 1.3.5.431-7966a4df on separate Win7 x64 computer.

Integrate fetching eztv similar to XBMCtorrent.

When trying to browse the channel from my Android phone it comes up with the message:

No items to display
This directory appears to be empty

This occurs after both a phone and server restart

The channel works fine from my web app on the server PC

Firstly thanks for this awesome application for plex.

I have a feature request that I believe 'not so hard' to implement. When browsing Plex from a client as a DLNA server, Torrent Channel works almost great but here's the problem:

After selecting the movie to stream, the torrent list appears as identical items not with the torrent names as it should. I'm posting a comparison picture below to illustrate what I mean. If you can solve this issue I'd be much appreciated. Many thanks for your efforts.

I have Plex server Version 0.9.11.4 (Web Version 2.3.15) running on Ubuntu server 14.04.1. I was able to play two movies on Plex web from a machine running os x, however I get a "playback failed: one or more items failed to play" error when trying to play with Plex Home Theater on a separate Windows 7 x64 machine.

Any idea why this might be?

Any attempt to play a video from the browser (Chrome) results in being taken to a URL starting with http://scrapyard.en-mousse.org/.

Items are found and cover art shown. TV shows resolve with multiple search results as expected but none of the videos will play.

Will not play in browser, Plex Home Theatre, Chromecast or Plex for Android.

Hi, Nice work. Like your interface, etc. Pulls files down and plays with no issues ( at least the few I tried). My issue is that the torrents get pulled thru my normal Comcast IP address.

My question is this: I have a dedicated box running VPN for torrent downloads so that I don't get hit with Copyright notices from my ISP (Comcast). What would it take to redirect the torrent to my dedicated box for download and then play from the directory on my NAS drive that the files are copied too?

I'm not a python programmer, but I have done a fair amount of programming in the past. I'm sure with some hints in the right direction (and some python documentation) I might be able to muddle my way thru and come up with something.... Don't want to discount your hard work and time though. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to get something going.

After the torrent finishes (whenever that is), it stores it in a directory I specified in the preferences. I paused the movie for a bit on my PC, then went to Roku and played the video from BitTorrent's Channel, and found that 5 minutes in, it buffered for a good 3 minutes (catching up on torrent). I went to the finished directory and found the file was 100% complete to the end, and I was able to watch it in full on my Plex TV shows, but was not able to watch it in BitTorrent because it wanted to stream the video from the torrent, and did not see there was already a completed download of it.

As I live in the UK could it be possible to have an option to use these proxy sites?

Support to allow for safepeer list use similar to most the popular bittorrent clients, transmission, vuze, ect...

Ex: Tonight Show, Daily Show, Realtime with Bill Maher...

only the anime channel is working for some reason.
If I choose Tv / Movies , and then any of the 'popular / new /genere' I get - "The channel is not responding"

Can't seem to load the torrents ?
configuration seems ok, removed pirate bay since its dead...

no firewall , etc.
any suggestions?

I have tried this plugin and it is quite impressive. The Bittorrent plugin is installed on my homeserver and I intend to use it from various clients (Plex/Web, Plex iOS, Plex HT) that access this server from either the LAN or from outside, i.e. the WAN.
At first I couldn’t get playback to work at all, then I poked around with Wireshark and checked the source which led me to port 8042. Once I forwarded this and made it accessible from the WAN, playback started working from everywhere.

Is this intended behaviour because I didn’t see it mentioned?

I hope it is not possible for random people to send unauthenticated API calls to make my homeserver download random torrents?

Add options to enable/disable each provider for easier testing.

I see no settings about seeding, does this basically run an indefinite seed for each torrent on my machine?

It'd be nice if there was a setting for this or at least some info on what is happening.

Is there a way we can see the size of the torrent prior to downloading? Just that I've just gone to download a film and it's been over 10gbs (Obviously checked the file name and it said it was HD RIP)

When trying to load content i keep getting an error. It reads: "Content Unavailable - An error occurred while trying to load this content, make sure the server is running". Most of the other unsupported applications seem to work fine, i've tried resetting plex and the roku to no available. The issue seems to plague other users on the plex addon forum. Perhaps it would be good if you could setup a web page or something on the Plex Server such as a mini torrent manager for torrents started by this Channel.

Then maybe you could create a "live feed" video into your channel that lets us watch the progress of the torrents. of course, managing the torrents (such as stopping, or unseeding) would be done on the web page.

Today I bumped into an issue and I'd like to report it.

I'm using Plex Server on my Mac and latest versiton of Bittorrent Channel installed. I've started a video on my AppleTv using Plex add-on from Bittorrent Channel without a problem. Then I pasued it. After two hours, when I come back, I saw that the video was already fully downloaded on my Mac as expected but also removed from it.

Here, I think Bittorrent channel assumed that the video has already been watched and removed due to inactivity. Is it possible to increase this removal due to inactivity period? Because it may cause pre-mature removals as I bumped into.

my only question is will you be able to add two different download directories one for tv shows and one for movies, that way they be added directly to plex. when you chose to keep it.

I'm inquiring as to if it is known that http2torrent has the ability to select out a specific video in a torrents with multiple videos and get it from that point. If not, I inquire about the possibility of adding such a feature in BitTorrent.bundle.

Is it feasible to get this plugin working on a Synology DiskStation? Everything seems to be working except for libtorrent, which I assume just needs to be compiled for the architecture and included appropriately. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd be happy to take on the task.

So this problem only happens through my web browser (Chrome Version 37.0.2054.3 dev-m). If I try to play on my TV it's fine, but when I try to play something on my PC, it sometimes opens a window with the torrent page (Thepiratebay, Kickass, etc.) This doesn't happen always though, and it's really starting to annoy me. Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

Most likely an issue with log file that cannot be opened twice.
Solution by order of preference:

• Log to Plex log somehow
• Have one log file per port
• Remove logging to file altogether
