node -v

v18.12.1

After commenting out the offending line in the ebuild, element-web and element-desktop built fine and desktop appears to run fine locally.

Any reason element-web's dependencies couldn't have nodejs-16 allowed?

I couldn't have a server on mine stuck below nodejs 16 LTS any longer, so I updated element-web's RDEPEND to:

<net-libs/nodejs-18

I haven't done a full emerge -e on element-web or anything, so there could be something else that would break. So far, so good, on this system of mine, though.

Anyhow, thanks of course for providing this repo and the element apps!

xournalpp latex support doesn't work until texlive-latexextra is installed

Clicking the Math TeX button in the tool bar pops up a dialog box

Could not find the LaTeX package 'standalone'.
Please install standalone (found in texlive-latex-extra) and make sure
it's accessible by your LaTeX installation.

Emerging dev-texlive/texlive-latexextra fixes the problem. Perhaps this could be added to RDEPEND?
