prospector's Issues

csf_pattern district selection bug #2

There seems to be a misalignment between the chords and arcs in some instances. For example:

  1. select "Sunset" from the map or chart
  2. select "Transit"
  3. select "Richmond" from the map or chart.

Now the chords aren't aligned with the selected district's arc.

Intra-district trip "humps"

Is it possible to make these shorter? In many cases they're pretty prominent and obscure other chords. Might be nice to have them a little shorter, but this isn't super important.

Consistent Categorization / Breakpoints

From sfcta/epc-map#10

When selecting metrics, please consider keeping categorization consistent (eg. always 0-10%, 10-20%, etc). It's not clear why current breakpoints, which change for each metric, are being used. For example, when looking at the Elderly population, most of the tracts are in the lowest two bins. However, when looking at Zero-vehicle HHs is overwhelmingly highest bin.

csf_pattern district selection bug

When a district is selected, and then the user toggles through mode options, previously unselected districts get selected.

The issue can be replicated by on a fresh load by:

  1. select Marina/N. Heights on the chord diagram
  2. select Walk/Bike
  3. select Transit

Now Marina/N. Heights is still selected, but so is a subset of East Bay

Revise Summary Statistics Text

From sfcta/epc-map#15

Above the Tract chart, whether citywide or individual tract (or set of tracts) is being displayed, revise text/layout to simply say on 3 lines:

Total Population of Tract:
% of City EPC Population:
% of City Total Population:

Add Percentages to Chart

From sfcta/epc-map#11

In right hand navigation / options bar, in chart, suggest adding percentages as a right-hand axis label (noting that the sum of the percentages across all bars will sum to greater than 100%)

csf_pattern district selection bug #3

Some selection actions can lead to additional chords, which are not part of the selection, being selected. Example:

  1. select Sunset
  2. select Auto
  3. select western market

There appear to be two full, distinct sets of chords at about 4 o'clock, near but misaligned with SoMa. There is also another chord connecting western market and sunset.
