This is a placeholder ticket to remind myself to look into 3B2 idle support.
Under System V UNIX on the 3B2, the system time is driven by a periodic interrupt operating at 100 Hz. When CPU idle is not enabled, this keeps what seems to be perfect sync with the host's system time, i.e., one second of time on the 3B2 equals one second of time on the host.
However, when CPU idle is enabled (SET CPU IDLE), one second of time on the 3B2 takes about one and a half seconds of time on the host, so the System V clock runs very slow.
I have no idea what could account for this, but it seems like something I should look into.
Do you think the ESP32 is enough computer to run a 3b2 emulation?
This guy (not me) did an emulation of a PDP11 running Unix on an ESP32 so the idea is feasible assuming the ESP32 has enough RAM.
