local-ssl's Issues

mac_root_ca_install.scpt exists in repo

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. clone repository

RESULT:

File mac_root_ca_install.scpt exists in repo

EXPECTED RESULT:

There code in prepend_0.php to create this file which is OS dependent. If it's creating the file should the file be added to .gitignore and removed from the repo?

When Local-SSL is active client is not able to add new websites to my MainWP dashboard

I have enabled the SSL plugin and added the ServerPress certificate to my Firefox browser.

I my local WordPress site I installed the plugin MainWP (WordPress dashboard manager) and I noticed the following issue:

  • when i enable the option Local SSL Settings/Enable Upgrade All Connections to HTTPS in WordPress then I am not able to add new websites to my MainWP dashboard. When I disable this option I can add new websites to MainWP.

After adding the websites to MainWP I can enable this option again, and the syncing process between MainWP and my Child websites is working just fine.

So this problem only exist when I try to add a new website to MainWP. After the website is added I can enable Local SSL option without any problem.

Use native binaries in future release

When platform native binaries are present, we should change the path to use them in core vs. shipping native platform binaries in the plugin. This will avoid redundant and irrelevant native code on incompatible platforms.

SSL Cert clean up

After a site has been removed using DesktopServer the SSL certificate is not removed.

Local-SSL Install Instructions for Windows

I have written readme instructions for Local-SSL plugin that I would like to contribute to help Windows newcomers. Please feel free to veto its inclusion if you prefer not to use it. -- Sunni

Readme: How to Reinstall the Local-SSL plugin

De-Select Local-SSL if running and shut down Desktop Server application. Find the local-ssl-2.0.27 (or other version number, say 2.0.28) folder/directory located in the ds-plugins folder/directory of xampplite, which is under C: on Windows. (Ctrl N on desktop gets you to the C: root). Move the current local-ssl-2.0.27 folder and contents to desktop. Rename for temporary safekeeping, eg. local-ssl-2.0.28-origin.

Download latest release zip file from here to desktop: local-ssl-2.0.28.zip

Extract this zip file to xampplite/ds-plugins

Run DesktopServer and start the web and database services.

Under "Enable Developer Plugins:" select Local SSL, which should now have the version number corresponding to the file you downloaded.

Click "Next" and then open your development website.

Your SSL certificate should now be working under Chrome and Firefox. You can now delete the temporary local-ssl-2.0.28-origin file saved to your desktop.

If it is not working, I recommend one finger of excellent whiskey and a visit to the ServerPress site for instructions on how to add the certificate to privacy settings, most likely in Firefox.

Local SSL Setting Contains Typo

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Go to Local SSL in Settings (WordPress Dashboard)
  2. Top of screen says, "Activating this option will forces" instead of "Activating this option will force"

RESULT:

[Description]
It hurts my eyes.

EXPECTED RESULT:

[Description]
No eye pain

Multiple runtime errors on Windows

This maybe the result of string parsing operations on Windows' CRLF based configuration files (or not)?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install DesktopServer Limited with local-ssl plugin, activate, and restart.
  2. Enable PHP logging by creating "logs" folder at path c:\xampplite\php\logs
  3. Restart DesktopServer and observe runtime errors when attempting to create a new website
Undefined variable get_server_name in local-ssl\prepend_0.php on line 43
Undefined variable new_httpd_conf in local-ssl\prepend_0.php online 65

Receiving this error after changes made

Producing the following errors.
