mgsresolutionpatch's Issues

Borderless

Please add the option to force borderless windowed mode.

Thanks!

1440p Viewport isn't sized correctly - MGS3

The viewport doesn't seem to be sized correctly when running 1440p.

[MGSResolutionPatch]
WindowSizeX=2560
WindowSizeY=1440
ResolutionX=2560
ResolutionY=1440
SquishVertically=1

WindowSizeY=1440

(Turning off Squish vertically makes the viewport even smaller)

Both are sized incorrectly on the X axis

MGS2 HUD

Hi! First of all thanks for this.

Are you planning to resolve the HUD issues with MGS2 or is that out of the scope of the project?

Also might I ask what the warning about resolutions other than 1080p and 2160p possibly not working is about? MGS3 seems to be fine at 2560x1440.

Thanks!

Black bars on the side of the screen

Hey there! One of the other resolution injectors / patches fixed a bug related to the games launching with the incorrect aspect ratio / resolution (primarily an issue when your using a TV set to 1440/4k - 16:9 ratio while it supports a maximum of 4096x2160 - 17:9.) Their fix is only applied to MGS3 at the current time, however is does also affect MGS2, and the MSX games (MG1 / MG2SS)

Just wanted to give you a heads up incase it's something you'd want to integrate with your own patch as well

Taking picture with Camera in MGS3 crashes to desktop

I've tested this on this mod, as well as the MGSHDFix, just to see if there was something different, but replicate the same crash when taking a picture in MGS3. It crashes MGS3.exe to the desktop and "suspends" it in Resource Manager.

MGS1 Patch

Hello everyone, will this mod/patch be available for Metal Gear Solid 1 as well in the future? It seems strange to me that we can't go beyond 720p.

Thank you very much,
Drake

MGS 2 Visual

You probably already know this. But in case you are considering a version for MGS 2 Resolution . I've been looking into this for a while. It appears there's a layer that sits over the main visuals but under the Subtitles. This is rendering in 720p still hence the visual glitches.

This is used for lightning flashes, Fade In/out between scenes, codec calls (layer used for a distortion effect) and black upper and lower bars during certain cut scenes. They appear to be all on the same layer so likely have the same setting.

If you can find that setting then it should resolve the issue.

If not then thanks for all the work you put in. MGS 3 looks superb!

MGS3 DoF scaling

The depth of field effect (and possible other effects?) gets progressively less and less pronounced as you increase the resolution. I wonder if the effect could be scaled to compensate. This was already a problem in the HD collection and increasing the resolution past 720p makes the issue even worse.

1440p:

PS2 (for reference):

Fixing this kind of stuff could turn this version into the definitive edition of the game

(if you do make a fix for this it should ideally be optional as I'm sure many people prefer the cleaner look of no DoF)
