I know you are considering it, so I am opening this so you can track how many people needs this.
I do not want the all or nothing approach, I prefer to select what a plugin does and it also helps to understand what this plugin is doing on the backend without having to go to the docs everytime.

As per the suggestion of David Dumonde over at Facebook, remove the Hello Dolly plugin if it is still installed.

The plugin only removes "Howdy", but leaves translations of it.

Now the question of course becomes whether or not the translations of "Howdy" are also irritating for the users of that particular translated version or not?

On the one hand I can imagine that a translated (and localised) version of Howdy, does not necessarily has to come across as rude, whereas "Howdy" is exactly that for many non-Americans.

Input very welcome before deciding on how to go with this!

Another request for a settings menu for more granular control over what's hidden/removed.

Specifically I'd like access back to the Tools menu as not only is this where Migrate DB lives (I know it's still accessible as per ticket #12 and that there are alternatives to this plugin) but it's also where the Export/Erase personal data and import/export menu's are.

Can this menu be re-activated with a function or do I have to abandon it (which I don't really want to do).

Related to issue #3 the suggestion by Jeff Starr to remove all but the most recent default theme.

On existing sites that already have changed the Uncategorized category to something else, this function also fires.

There should be a check included if the Uncategorized category indeed (still) exists.

Working on a fix now.

I noticed that this plugin removed the Tools menu from my installation. Not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but thought I'd flag it.

That's where Migrate DB lives - I couldn't access it.

Really like what this plugin does - Saves a lot of time.

Have just updated WP to 5.3 and am receiving the following warning in dashboard:

Hello! Thanks for Lean WP -- just installed it and seems great. Call me lame, but I actually use some features of the Customizer. Would appreciate it if you would add a settings page (so that the plugin is not quite so strict -- all or nothing) and that such a page would allow the Customizer to remain.

Is there a way to leave XML-RPC enabled or to re-enable it in code from another plugin or functions.php?

I use WP/LR Sync plugin to manage images in some of the websites; I really can't give up on that.

If Lean WP active wordpress "Reading Settings" always set Front page displays to Static page

Consider adding support to disable gravatars by default, e.g.

	update_option( 'show_avatars', '' );
} 

This would have to be optional as some themes may visually break.

Will LeanWP be looking at updating to turn on/off Gutenberg or should we be looking at Jeff Star's Disable Gutenberg solution?
