cartero's Issues

Unknown actions

Hello, this is a pretty small problem, but sometimes, when I try to have an option the output tells me "Unknown action". For example :

root@debian:~# cartero Mongo -b 10.12.15.248:987
Unknown Action.

Cheers !

Problems starting cartero listener

Hi,
I'm completely new to cartero and followed your installation instructions, but got stuck startening my first listener. I've installed cartero in an vanilla Ubuntu 16.04 Server LTS VM. Tried both installation variants, manual and the scripted one. Both installations went fine so far, no err seen. But when I try to use cartero, i got:

me@myvm:~/Cartero/bin$ ./cartero Cloner --url https://gmail.com --path /tmp --webserver gmail_com
Cloning URL https://gmail.com
me@myvm:~/Cartero/bin$ ./cartero Listener --webserver /tmp/gmail_com -p 80
undefined method `put_int' for #<BSON::ByteBuffer:0x000000029994c0>
Did you mean?  put_int64
               put_int32

Any ideas what could went wrong?

IV length too short

Hi,

Before I start with my issue, I'd just like to mention that you have done a great job with Cartero! It is a very well-written project and has really cool features like iMessage and XMPP!!!!

UPDATE:
I have found the source of the problem. It is the line about payloads. For instance, in carta.rb (under mailers within lib/commands), see line 203:
entity[:payload] = ::Cartero::CryptoBox.encrypt(entity.to_json)

I am not extremely fluent in Ruby, but I think that there is no encrypt method within the CryptoBox Class in crypto_box.rb within the lib/cartero library; I think the encrypt function may be within the crypto directory (contains aes.rb and rbnacl.rb) . To temporarily fix the problem, I commented out that line, and I had mostly success. Still having troubles with mailing, but it probably is on my end.

My problem is stated below:

I have been unable to send out mails with Mailer or text messages with Twilio because of a simple error that is known as "iv length too short". That's all I get. I don't know if they're are logs that describe the backtrace, but I have yet to find them. I have google searched the issue and I have found no luck. I think, however, the error may be in crypto_box.rb or the directory within lib that is called crypto (contains aes.rb and rbnacl.rb).

Please let me know what suggestions you have.

Also, what is the purpose of the authentication and domain keys within the JSON email server files?
(They are usually set to plain and localhost.localdomain, respectively)

Thanks!

Credentials Harvester Not Working as Expected

Hey,

I've been having this issue where I can only harvest credentials from specific sites (facebook, twitter). Some sites I try have failed to harvest credentials (like login.microsoftonline.com). Is Cartero looking for specific id's in the HTML to determine what are credentials ?

I would really appreciate the help.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Linkedin Oauth

Hope you had a great weekend.

I tried to use the LinkedIn Module, and I have been unable to get the oauth_token and the oauth_secret. I have gotten the api_access, the api_secret, and the access_token. That said, where does the oauth_token and oauth_secret come in? Terminology with OAuth is rather ambiguous, so I was hoping you could clarify. Is it perhaps that oauth_token and o_auth secret were deprecated with the Advent of OAuth 2?

I have been working on the patch for the credential harvesting to expand to a site like login.microsoftonline.com by the way!
