My way of improving display cutouts for notched phones is to edit the path in Inkscape, export it as a png and use it as a wallpaper, like below.

With Your application is far-far easier to test a new path. Sadly on stock ROM it doesn't help mutch: it's hard to see which is the original cutout and which is the path from your app as they are both black.

It would be nice, if there will be an option to change the path's color, away from black.
It would be also nice, if the cutout polygon could be filled with customizable color.
