I generated an new UUID like this:

const code = UUID.v1();

This produced a reasonable looking UUID: a8f5b990-1000-11a7-16a2-28cfe91bde25

However, decoding the embedded timestamp produced value of:

1960-02-21 19:43:36 UTC

I was expecting a current timestamp.

Looks like you have a typo and are extracting the r1 instead of r4

uuid-1345 uses macaddress which uses (with the execFile fix) child_process, but even after I installed child_process, the referencing path can't be resolved

Everything in this library is synchronously so it doesn't make any sense to have a callback based API. It gives the consumer a false sense that the work is being done in the thread-pool when in reality it isn't...

Just tried to load this up and when I start my server, I see the following error:
